I have no idea where this is coming from, but I LOVE the smell of Ajax. Yes, the cleaning product. I clean my toilet daily just to get my fix. No desire to eat it like on the show "My crazy addiction", but I crave the smell. And when it's windy and I smell dirt, It smells so good. What the hell is wrong with me??? My hubby thinks there's something mentally wrong with me. Now I'm starting to believe him!

I like bleach...cleaning the bathrooms is my favorite chore right now.
And fresh paint. My doctors office was repainting at my last appointment and I was loving it.
Probably two things I shouldn't be sniffing a lot of right now...

I'm obsessed with the smell of lavender right now!! My husband says I'm like a crack addict with it. Lol

This is indicative of a deficiency in a diet. Your body is craving something it's missing. Maybe there is some extract in the cleaning product that is triggering your body to respond "wouldn't that've great right now?!?"
I learned of this in school when learning that some people actually make dirt dishes when they're pregnant. I don't remember what culture or where does this. Seems a little less strange when you actually get a craving.

I can mean you could have a deficiency but it can also mean absolutely nothing!

Yeah I have the same issue... Bleach, cleaning products, petrol, my garage, soil pretty much all the weird crap you shouldn't be smelling! It's just a pregnancy thing don't worry better then first tri when most smells make you feel sick!

I crave the smell of fresh paint and cleaning products.. Also I'm craving baking soda (to eat) my doctor did a series of blood tests and everything came back normal! I'm just a freak I guess lol

Gas is my weird smell. My husband pumps my gas but lately I'll roll the windows down and try to take big wifs of it. Oh and sometimes I'll purposefully write my grocery list I. Sharpie becUse it also smells good.

Not true. There are at least two threads about this already as well. I was diagnosed with anemia early in my third trimester and my nurse and dr both said that craving smells particularly chemical or non food smells is a form of pica. I never want to eat the stuff just HAVE to smell it. Since I've been taking my iron the cravings have decreased significantly, it took weeks tho. Also to the OP lemon Ajax soap is my jam.

I crave a/c smell the damp one you smell when your a/c turns on. I turn it on and off just to smell it. You probably have low iron my dr told me not to worry about it as most women get a little deficient towards the end of pregnancy. I was so prepared for a ridiculous story that everyone was gonna judge lol no this is completely normal.

I crave the smell of beer. I don't miss drinking it, I just like the smell.

I'm absolutely dying for a pint. I like beer, normally, but not like this. I want to stop and smell glasses at restaurants. Only red and stouts. I told my DH that he needs to get me a pint in the hospital once I've delivered baby.

PICA is not just craving to eat the substance, the smells can constitute pica ad well. Mention it to yor doctor, but as pointed out, it is common in pregnancy. And it escalates very quickly from craving smells to craving to eat the non edible substance so watch out for any signs of that.

I craved the smell of fresh dirt with my second girl. My mouth would actually water when I smelled it. I could have just taken a spoon and taken a bite out of my potted house plants soil, but that's crazy

I asked my dr if it was a problem that I craved the smelll of lavender and he said no. He wasn't concerned at all. Just FYI

I crave cotton balls! Spoke to my Dr., I have pica but haven't found out if it is a mineral deficiency yet. I want to eat them (I will NOT), but resort to grabbing handfuls and rubbing on my face! Call me wierd!

I've been anemic the 2nd half of each of my three pregnancies and craved crunching on ice. With the anemia, however, came an aversion to touching cotton balls and newspapers and I couldn't stand my teeth touching a fork/spoon.

I'm obsessed with sparkling water. I can drink a liter in one sitting! I'm also addicted to brushing my teeth . It's like my mouth has an itch and it's so satisfying to scratch it. Letting the shower run on my tongue gives me the same satisfaction.

This!! I brush my teeth and tongue like five times a day!! I can't get enough of brushing my tongue!! It's sooo weird to me because I work in a dental office and have never been like this before. Lol.

Also..I'm allergic to comet and Ajax...but I too cannot fathom why all of a sudden I want to sniff it. I beg my husband to clean my sink to often I think he may have caught on...lol
