Baby doesn't smile for me ?

My LO is 8 weeks and he does smile . Most of his grins though are for other people like grandma and aunt but he barely smiles for me . I talk to him, sing, play, and entertain him as best as I can . But he will only do A smirk and I won't see it again for a while and most of the time he doesn't even look at me in my face .

It makes me feel bad like maybe I'm not talking to him enough or making him happy by means other than feeding and changing him . Does everyone's LO smile a lot for them ? Should I be using toys or something else to catch his attention ?

My son smiles really big for me when I baby talk with him and say "mommy loves you" or "your so cute" and I grab his little hands and rub his cheeks with them lol he'll smile big for you soon don't worry! Your his momma you make him the happiest baby. They just don't really know that much right now. (:

My LO was a super serious little girl at 8 weeks. Now she's smiley and starting to coo. She rarely smiled at me before and now she won't coo for Daddy. They just have their own little quirks. Don't worry, he loves you.

My baby girl never smiled for me until about 2 weeks ago and she's 6 week's old on tomorrow. She really only smiled for her daddy until that time. Now, all I have to do is smile at her and she smiles back. I say, "hi baby!" and she smiles. I tickle her tummy and arm pits and she smiles. I would just keep doing what you are doing and he'll catch on soon! :-)

Aww thats frustrating but dont stress. When I smile really big & talk baby she smiles for me.
