I mean this in the least snarky way possible, but if you have to ask what the "right" way to spell a name is, it's probably not a good name to use.
There are tons of variations of this name, which is from a surname that means "Hay clearing". Almost all of them are in the top 1000, most are in the top 500. The most popular variation is Hailey, and it's rank 43.
It's a very trendy name, and it's not that great of a name either.
I would not use this name, as I find it generic and not appealing, but I would spell it Haley. I hate the spelling with an 'i' for some reason, as it just looks arbitrary. Middle name suggestions above are all nice.
I grew up with a Hayley (pronounced hay-lee). I teach a two this year. One is Haley (hail-ee), the other is Halley (hal-lee). I constantly mix up their pronunciations and for that reason I am not a fan of the name even though I have good associations with it. So I guess your spelling should match how you want to pronounce it.
Don't listen to that poster! That was not very nice. Hailey is a lovely name. I have taught 2 and both were spelled Hailey
How about Hailey Skye, Hailey Kate or Hailey Paige?
God forbid I express dislike of a trendy name that means "hay clearing".
Apparently the Nice Police are out in full force on this board today. I was called "rude" and a "mean girl" for pointing out that 'Camden' is the most dangerous city in America and therefore a questionable name for a child. SMH
I didn't realize Hailey was a popular name.. Looks like it 's around 50 on the top 100 list. And I didn't ask if you liked the name Hailey/Haley. I was just wondering about spelling. I think I'll go with "Hailey." It's not popular here in Florida. I am a 5th grade teacher and have never taught a Hailey. I also don't know anyone in my area with that name so it's not trendy or popular here.
@kmdendy isn't it funny how some names pop up in some areas more than others? I taught 3 Kaylee/Caelies one year in my K class and never saw one again when I moved cities!
Unfortunately it is apparently one's right on here to voice all opinions whether asked for or not. I find it so disappointing that people can be so cruel. I hope you go with your heart. Both Hailey's I knew were just the sweetest little darlings
I like Hailey with an i added. It is in our top 5 baby girl names for #3.

My niece spells it Halli and I teach a Hailey. I'm partial to my niece's, but I don't think this is really a name you can spell wrong.
Yes, it definitely is a name you can spell wrong, as evidenced by your niece's spelling. I wouldn't even pronounce that like Haley, I would think it was Halle (like Halle Berry). I am not insulting your niece, since I know she didn't name herself, but there certainly MANY ways you can spell this or any other name wrong.
Re: Middle Name for Haley ?
But it is very popular, so think about how much you'll like it when there's multiple other girls in her classes with the name Hailey.
