Diaper Ice Packs PSA

not sure if every hospital has these since I'm a FTM but thought I'd share this tip with everyone (although I have no idea if this is something everyone who's had a baby knows about) my hospital makes ice packs out of newborn diapers and they serve as both ice pack and pad. They shove crushed ice inside the diaper lining and cut the diaper so it resembles a pad (leave sticky tabs on) OMG does it feel amazing with the stitches and swelling!!

there is an actual product for this.  ice packs with a soft outer layer that have a sticky side like pads.  another trick is to fill always pads with water and place them in the freezer....always works well once your home

The hospital I delivered at with my first had ice packs that had a mesh covering. You would twist then to activate the cooling effect and they stayed cold for a long time without dripping anywhere. I'm hoping that the hospital I am delivering at this time has something similar.

Frozen maxi pads?! I'm doing that at home!!! Never thought wearing a frozen pad would feel so good!!!

I made these today! Froze maxi pads with aloe, whitch hazel, and a little lavender essential oil. Hopefully they work well!

@shrkfan I'm not sure yet, I'm due the 18th, and she's still cooking! The blog post I found them on said they were wonderful, so I thought I'd give them a shot. I'll letcha know once I do try them, though!
