I am so happy that I am pregnant (currently 10w2d), but just not quite able to allow myself to feel good yet. I am so afraid that my baby may have a neural tube defect. I am high risk, 34, have Homozygous MTHFR, and tested having a high homocysteine level of 14.4 during the 6th week of pregnancy. I have since had an increase in my medication, so my homocysteine level has dropped to a 5.5, which is some relief. However, high homocysteine causes neural tube defects, and since mine was high during the weeks when the neural tube and brain were developing, I can't help but feel afraid. Anyone have any experience with this?
