Daily symptoms thread 4/4

How are you ladies feeling? I've been wide awake since about 7 am and didn't sleep well at all. I'm in the habit of switching the side I sleep on each time I wake up which is quite frequently. It kills me to sleep on my left side for some reason. The pressure bearing down causes insane pain from hip to toe. Then when I would try to roll to my right side it hurt like hell where I got my pertussis shot yesterday. Finally gave up and am just laying here wide awake while DH snoozes peacefully

  • I'm doing that too! Moving around switching sides constantly, and then ending up on my back. Also, I was burning up last night, to the point where DH said he felt like he was in the movie Father of the Bride (Part II).
We kicked the air down from 73 degrees to 61. It was unbearable. Now it's perfect. :-)
  • Slept poorly, had a really bizarre labor and delivery dream, woke up early a couple of times before my alarm was supposed to go off, my sides hurt from the pressure on my hips, blah blah blah. Also, I have to go to work early this morning (usually I work nights, so weird change for me). AND - its snowing. Hooray. [-(

  • Sleeping in a queen size bed for the weekend so I feel like my sleeping zone is compromised. Painful hips this morning when I woke up. I have also turned into a mouth breather at night, so the dry mouth is insane. Everything I wake up I drink water, but damn it's like the Sahara in there.
  • @lovethatcolosun mouth breather here, too! I have issues with breathing thru my nose in general so its been something I've usually done, but the pregnancy has made it much worse. I've actually gotten abrasions on my tongue from it being so dry. Really sucks.

  • @karaelaine1991 I'm also ending up on my back a lot. I asked my doc and he said it's not a big deal... My body would feel any issues around blood flow etc before it affected baby. If that makes you feel better?

I had the opposite of insomnia, fell asleep at 8 pm and wasted my Friday.... Ugh we have so much to do! Now I'm up early and trying to kill time until DH is up...

I am having weird nausea from not eating every 3 hours :(

That does, thanks! Absolutely no guilt now whatsoever :)

ETA I hope your nausea goes away soon!

DH and I share a full size bed every night... super jealous of the queen you're sharing for the weekend! Sorry about the painful hips and dry mouth, though!

  • @karaelaine1991 we have a full size bed too! We share ours with our dog and cat too lol I'd kill for a king size but we've made the full work where most nights it's not that bad haha we will see how it goes in a month or two though.

Oh man we don't have the pets so we're not quite that crowded! It's nice and cozy in the winter though :) but when his brother got married in October we splurged and stayed in a hotel room after the reception. It had a king size bed. Absolutely heavenly.

  • @karaelaine1991 - My doc said the same about back sleeping. For me, it makes me feel weird. Not exactly light headed or anything specific, just like, "hmm, this isn't right." I think it actually wakes me up, which is not cool.

Well, DH was snoring it up again last night, same old story. It was so quiet it would have been fine pre-preg, but because of the waking up to pee etc., I had a terrible night's sleep. It's not even 7:00 and I'm up already :(. Also, I'm pooping like 3 or 4 times a day. It is not my favorite thing, although I suppose better out than in!

Ugh yeah that pertussis shot does not make sleeping on the side fun!

I'm having difficulty sticking to side sleeping, all the extra weight makes whichever side I'm sleeping on sore. Lately I've been rolling onto my back in my sleep - and I'm at the point where I just don't care anymore. I start out on my side like I'm supposed to, but if I end up on my back, so be it. I want sleep haha.

As far as other symptoms go, I have my usual achey hips, frequent trips to the bathroom, and leaky boobs. I'm really starting to think I could use them as squirt guns if I wanted to lol. It's getting pretty ridiculous.
I had no idea my arm would be so sore! DH thought it would be funny to flick me in the arm last night. I then had a full on meltdown and he asked me if I was actually hurting that bad or did it just hurt my feelings. I was just like, really? Both, you insensitive jerk! He always says he's just trying to toughen me up, news flash: not while I'm pregnant. He felt pretty bad. I'm so tired of sleeping on my side, I would love to be able to sleep on my stomach for just one night.

Now I'm up and cleaning, so I guess my latest symptom is nesting.
I know! Mine was totally fine until DH decided to lean his head on it while we were watching Friends the night that I got it - instant pain. And then he had the nerve to pout when I told him he needed to find a new position. Men!

I've found that if I start out on my back I have trouble breathing, but if I start out on my side and end up on my back I'm fine. Super weird! But I'm glad to have further confirmation that baby will be ok - that's top priority :)

Yeah I think the gist of it is, if we start to get uncomfortable (trouble breathing, pain, etc) then that's our signal to move! Our bodies are apparently smart like that :)
  • My back hurts so bad I can hardly turn myself over in bed. I have been waking up on my belly. yikes!

DH has a chest cold and is just plain dying. I can not handle him right now. DDs party is today and I'm a wreck trying to get everything ready. I don't think I have ever felt so stressed. I can usually handle it but lately I want to just stay in bed and cry.
  • Having a lot of GI issues. Pressure and pain from heartburn despite restarting GERD rx & upping the dose. Cramping & pain in my gut from trying to pass a BM or having loose stool. Nausea & vomiting still. Exhaustion, back & hip pain. Also not sleeping well. Missed some work this week but moved last weekend so hoping I'm just trying to recover from that still. 10 more weeks! I'm praying I make it through & can still work! Baby is very active. DH presses on my belly and she kicks back at him so that is kind of fun. With all these G.I. issues though sometimes all that movement just upsets things even more. But I'm glad to know she's okay! Don't have to do any counting of baby movement because she is rocking and rolling in there!
  • @devyns2nd good luck with the party today! Deep breaths!!!!!

@karaelaine1991 I keep waking up on my back...... I don't give a crap anymore as long as I can sleep!!!!!

    Symptoms........ Mindset
Well I made it another week in pregnancy! Yay!!!! Come on 11 weeks....... Get here faster !

We recently got a king and I don't even understand how we slept any other way before!

Lucky you! We're going to get a queen eventually - we already have all the bedding since we got it as wedding gifts. Just need to save up for the bed!

Also.... Did I already say....why didn't I go into the toilet paper business ? I'm buying this waaaay too much. Should think of a career change.

My husbands company is working for a huge paper company here and he's been bringing home huge packs of toilet paper every day. I feel like we will never run out. Wish I could give you some!
  • Just finished my shift and hello, foot swelling! I can feel my toes pushing the front of my shoes. They don't start that way, but they sure end that way.

  • @CillyMama - love that cartoon!

  • @CillyMama that cartoon describes my life!
  • I survived the party but man am I hurting. my left leg is numb and I think I'm having contractions. I could cry right now.
  • Seems like first trimester nausea is back with force for a few hours each day. Yuck. And I can no longer exercise much without constant BH contractions that are strong/painful enough to stop me. On the whole though I feel pretty good

On the back sleeping I think your body will give you a strong signal if you shouldn't do this. I wake up on my back every night and feel short of breathe, dizzy, and violently ill. Like food poisoning. If I lie back during the day it happens with a minute. Have had to be careful at ultrasounds and Dr. Appointments and even in chairs that recline. It's ridiculous. If your body lets you sleep on your back I'd go for it. It affects you not the baby.

  • Sleeping is starting to get no fun. I get out of breath in the afternoon/at night. I'm guessing she migrates up some when I sit on the couch at night! I also think I have a pinched nerve between my shoulder blades. It's crazy sore & my hubby keeps trying to run out the knots to no avail!!
Thankfully, I've been fed so well this week, which makes me think she'll be hitting a growth spurt this coming week. At least I'm on Spring Break so I can relax all week while doing nursery projects!!
  • My hips and lower back are driving me crazy. Getting out of my car and sitting through church services in a pew are a chore with the soreness. This wouldn't be a problem but our church is a good way from the house and we are supposed to be attending leadership training once a week. My husband and I usually lead the youth group but the trips down there more than usual are exhausting.

In addition to the pain and tiredness from those trips, I'm not sleeping well and trying to finish my last couple weeks of work. I love working but am glad the position ends soon. I feel like my body is telling me to take it easy.

My feet are still swollen too. My dr and I have a lot to talk about at my early week appointment this week.
  • @karaelaine1991 I am like a WWE wrestler when I sleep. I've assaulted my husband on numerous occasions when in a queen size bed. I've whacked him in the face, stomach, shins, and also kneed him in his groin a few times and I have no freaking clue in doing it. I've been an aggressive sleeper since I was a child. My sister hated sleeping with me on vacation! She finally would just punch me back. Needless to say we switched to a king size to save our marriage and my husbands testicles. I adore my sleeping space. I will protect it at any cost.

Sounds like money well-spent! I'm a pretty restless sleeper, too, but thankfully have yet to actually hurt DH :)

  • We have a queen bed. DH wanted a new bed this year but I said no when baby was discovered. This morning was the first morning I woke up to him on the couch. Oops!
