Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

# of bottles at 22 months?

My LO was a micro-preemie born at 23w. She's now 22m. She eats table foods but still gets a few bottles of bm (I ep) each day. We've just started to introduce cow's milk in small amounts.

I feel like she should be eating more food and having less bm but I'm not sure. Our ped said her growth curve is great.

How many bottles/oz of bm/formula does your 22m od get?

Re: # of bottles at 22 months?

  • My son stopped getting bottles of formula at 12 months.

Your daughter's situation is not the norm so I would definitely listen to your Pedi on this, not any of us.

  • Yeah Id say your situation is special and to just ask your doctor. Most kids are transitioned to cows milk at 12 months but there are plenty of people that will breast feed their kids until they are two. That being said I think even drinking breast milk most toddlers primary source of nutrition  is from food and not milk. The "norm" is 16 ozs of dairy a day after the age of 12 months.... but you might be special based on the age your child was born. Just ask your doctor to be sure ;)
