40+5 today. Was due on the 25th. I have an appt today and scheduled induction for Sunday May 3rd. Should I ask for a membrane sweep? Sounds like mixed results of nothing happening or labor progression within 48 hours. I figure it's worth a shot?!
@jlkapp85 - it's worth a shot. Has your doc not done a sweep yet? I've had two and nothing, due today. Appt Monday and possible induction next Thursday/friday
@Lida1182 I hadn't been dilated at all previously, so they couldn't do a sweep. Today I was finally at 1 cm so she did a sweep. Induction still scheduled for Sunday night, but now have a little hope he could come before then! Good luck to you with your upcoming appt!
I haven't posted since all the craziness went down-- but: I'm 40+1 today, and I've been dealing with PUPPS for the last month. I've had 2 sweeps done: the first was last Friday, and I was almost 3 cm, 60% effaced, but the head was still way up. I had some serious contractions afterwards, but stopped before I hit the 5-1-1. My sweep on Tuesday I was 3 cm, 70% and the water was bulging, and she said she could easily feel the head. Hoping to go on my own this weekend, or else Monday Morning I'm getting a third sweep and discussing options for induction since I'm a good candidate at this point. A lot of my friends whom had sweeps preformed went into labor that same night. No such luck for me. Sex is supposed to really help in addition to the sweeps, but here I am, ready to hop onto the May board...
Was due the 26th and no sign of baby yet had 2 stretch and sweeps and no luck ! will have another tomorrow and Sunday then induction Tuesday hopefully she comes on her own as I want this home birth good luck fellow mommas
Well looks like we can all jump over to May. I was due on the 25th and like many, am still waiting. The disappointment and frustration is so upsetting. I'll have my first sweep on Saturday, of they can.
I'm 41 +1 at this point. I had a sweep last Monday, and they did a stress test and checked my fluids on Wednesday. Praying he comes on his own soon, but if not I'll be going in on Tuesday evening and induced Wednesday mornjng at 2 weeks over.
