Gas.....gas...gas....

I have had LO on formula for a few weeks now and just within the last few days she has been very fussy with gas and spitting up at least twice a day. Any suggestions? I burp during and after feelings, and I massage her belly. It seems to help temporarily until I stop. I thought maybe it was the formula, but she had no issues with it in the beginning.

  • My son had no issues with his formula at the beginning either (we've been supplementing for 2 weeks). He got progressively gassier and it eventually turned into very runny green poop this past weekend. We switched him to soy formula today and he's already on the mend. Gas drops have helped him out a lot. Not saying your LO needs soy, but just thought I'd share in case you run into the same situation!

  • Gripe water and gentle formula.
  • Try doing bicycle kicks with his legs. It gets DDs gas outs better than anything
  • Bicycle kicks with his legs and lay him flat across your lap and rub his back. Also gripe water works wonders for various tummy pains but keep in mind doesn't work for all babies. Worth a try tho...worked for mine :)
  • Essential oils.
  • We were having a lot of gas issues also. We switched our formula to enfamil gentlease and it has worked wonders. It's formulated for fussiness, gas, and crying.
  • My LO has gas as well but he's EBF and idk what to do to help but push his legs up to his belly :(
  • The gas drops should still help. Essential oils can mediate tummy discomfort. Also, keep a food diary and see if it's something you're eating.
