Bending over is starting to suck!

I'm 17 weeks today and to be honest I was a big girl pre-pregnancy (I'm 2 lbs lighter then I was before I got pregnant) so I don't feel like I'm even really showing.. at least not that most people would notice. I'm starting to run into issues that I honestly didn't think I would until pretty late in pregnancy. For example, bending over has started to become uncomfortable. Not painful or anything. I feel pressure in my abdomen and face, like if you bend over too far or for too long.. except neither is the case. Anyone else starting to run into those type of pregnancy issues already?

Re: Bending over is starting to suck!

  • Yes. I'm 14+6 and I've been having this for a few weeks now. I sound like an old woman moaning and groaning when I bend down and get back up again! I certainly don't remember it being this difficult to bend down at this stage when I was pregnant last time. I honestly thought its because I'm 37, maybe getting a bit old now haha.
The pressure in your face is a weird sensation, like you said I'm not in any pain either, just the pressure in my uterus. Another lovely pregnancy symptom :-)

  • I am the same way. Just shy of 15 weeks myself.
  • I'm 17 weeks and notice it's uncomfortable to lean forward and much harder to get off the couch because of the pressure on my belly. It only gets worse from here! At least I can still tie my shoes, lol.
  • I'm 16 weeks and struggle. Not that I can't do things, but it is somewhat a deterrent to shaving and giving myself a pedicure.
  • I'm the same way at 15 weeks 1 day. The pressure down below is getting painful. I guess it's the pressureon my uterus. I thought it wouldn't be an issue until my stomach was big and in the way.
  • I'm 17 weeks, on the skinny side, haven't gained yet and I can't sit in my computer chair and lean forward without discomfort!! I also jog/speed walk and my workout stretches feel weird too! After workouts I notice lots of weird pressure in my hips and have to do specific stretches to make it go away.

I wasn't expecting this until much later. Hehe
    :-)
  • I'm 18 weeks and bending over, getting out of bed, and going up stairs all are miserable. I make weird noises and feel like I'm way out of shape. Definitely didn't expect this so soon.

Same I feel really uncomfortable 16 weeks
  • Oooh yes, this. My face instantly fills up with pressure, it's crazy annoying! Im also turning into queen of sorry strange grunting noises whenever I bend over or yet to pick something up. My SO isn't any help, he just laughs at me and asks when I'm going to remember to ask for help
  • My couch is a little sunken in towards the back, so getting off of it has become a nightmare.  Sometimes I just sit on the floor......I was staring at my basketball stomach last night and said to my husband, "holy shit, what am I going to do when i am 8 months pregnant?"  Also, if I drop something on the floor now, I say F it and move on.  I left my water bottle on my stoop til hubby came home.

  • I'm a little over 18 weeks now & getting up is such a hassle! We also only have one bathroom & it's upstairs so if I'm doing anything downstairs - which is usually the case - I have to go up the stairs at least 20 times a day!

Bending over is ridiculous, haha. I usually just ask DH to help me :-)

I'll be 18 weeks tomorrow and it's uncomfortable putting my shoes on, but I have good balance still so I end up doing some odd version of tree pose to put my socks and shoes on. I also have a 10 month old puppy who gets her toys under the couches or bed and she can't get them. If I can't get them, it's DH's job or I find something else for her to play with as he's out of town till Friday. I'm making it work and will probably have to since my husband hate's feet lol

Im 17 weeks and I feel ya. Everything with pregnancy has started earlier than I thought it would!!
  • Yes! I'm 20 weeks and this morning I found myself doing the wide legged squat down to pick something up off the floor because the normal bend over is just uncomfortable.
  • I'm 17 wks and bending over while holding DD is my biggest obstacle and has been for a couple weeks. I HATE it when she decided to play the "I'm tired but fighting it so I'll throw my paci" game!

Me too! I sound crazy getting in and out of my car, I barely noticed I was grunting and groaning until my best friend pointed it out. She's 7 months pregnant so us going places is like two out of shape old ladies with all the grunts and groans lol

  • I have to bend over a lot for work and I find myself waiting till no one is in the store so I can moan and groan as I do it. Not to mention I'm moving right now so I'm struggling this week
  • Oh gosh yesss! It's horrid
  • OP, I completely get the feeling of pressure in the face.  It almost feels like too much blood is rushing there.  As often as I can (aka: whenever I think no one is looking) I practice the wide legged, almost sumo squat to reach down for something...   I'm sure it's attractive...

The bending thing just started bothering me three days ago (15 weeks with twins). We just got back from vacation and my suitcase is laying on my bedroom floor all packed still!

We close on our new house tomorrow, but don't move until June. I guess I better start packing asap while i can still sort of get stuff in boxes. Ugh.
  • I'm already having some issues. I'm only 15 weeks today. Sitting all day at work makes my legs fall asleep and when I drop something bending over sort of stinks. I'm not big yet but there's a lot of pressure when I bend down. Also getting in and out of bed is becoming sort of difficult and uncomfortable. I can't imagine what it's going to be like when we hit that 3rd trimester!

  • I'm 16 weeks yeah bending over is the worst and the. Of course trying to get comfortable laying down. I work at a desk and the keyboard keeps running into my belly too lol and it begins ....
  • I'm 18 weeks and a preschool teacher. I am constantly bending over to pick up toys and get down on the kids' level. I try to bend at the knees but sometimes bending at the waist is just easier or well it was lol. I left work after cleaning up a ton of toys (the kids were less helpful that day than usual) and my stomach hurt not like sharp pains but a dull uncomfortable feeling. I actually looked up if bending that much was ok because I was nervous So yea, know the feeling! Oh I also get super dizzy now too yay.

Lmao!! Maybe I need to start practicing it.

  • I get this bending over also! I have noticed that when I'm in bed and I roll over to my other side it feels so much heavier. I am 17 w 3 d currently. I'm dreading to see what it will be like at 8 months!
  • Bending over sucks. I'm constantly having to bend over at work to get to filing cabinets on the ground level. I can't imagine what it will be like 5 months from now when I'm about to deliver
  • I first notice the "bend" while getting that stray sock in the back of the dryer. Boy, I was totally un prepared to feel that at just 15 weeks. I told my husband that it looks like from here on out, he is on laundry duty. :) if only I trusted him to empty his pockets of sharpies prior to washing...
  • So today I pulled a muscle in my back from bending over and standing back up. I wasn't even lifting anything. Jeez!!

  • 17w6d and bending over is starting to be really uncomfortable for me and a really uneasy feeling. And I sometimes feel like I'm going to hurt her if I bend too far. My fiancé thinks I'm dramatizing my pregnancy but I'm like, you're not the one who's pregnant you don't know! :(
