One Year Photo Shoot ideas

What should we get for him to wear? Cake ideas? He has a dairy allergy so I'm trying to find good recipes. Thoughts on extra things to take for the shoot?

Re: One Year Photo Shoot ideas

  • Oh crap, I didn't even think about props or special toys to make her smile! We planned this awhile ago but I have been so busy the last two weeks and am now trying to throw everything together...it feels so slapdash! I am working tomorrow and will meet DH and DD at the studio after work. No time!

  • We have no outfits planned but I know I'll take his alligator we had him photographed with for his newborn shots. But that's all I've got. What outfits do you have?

  • A dress me, my sister and her daughter all wore in our one year photos, and 4 other cute dresses. I just tried 2 of them on her and judging from that experience...we will have to keep wardrobe changes to a minimum!

  • I have a "birthday boy" shirt we'll use for some photos. Hoping to get some good cake shots at his bday party, but not doing anything professional. Hopefully I won't regret that... I love that you have a family dress, @BADASBKRCK ! How sweet and special.
  • I ordered a "1" t-shirt from old navy that LO will wear at his party, and for his photo shoot I've got a cute plaid shirt and jeans outfit for him.

The place where we're getting photos done has a giant "1" for a prop. I've seen adorable photo shoots done with balloons as well. Maybe take along a birthday hat?
  • I cant believe Im nervous! Maybe because I am at work and am relying on my husband to get the baby ready and remember everything I probably forgot!

  • We are doing a photo shoot and the photographer does all decorations and cake even. We aren't doing a party or anything so we kinda went all out. I'm excited about it, nervous though because it's during her second nap.
  • I'm taking the pics myself. I'm doing a cake smash shoot, hot air balloon shoot, bubbles shoot, LO holding balloons shoot, and sailor outfit at the beach shoot. I bought a chalkboard at michales and it'll read "1 is fun" or something similar. Love Pinterest! Ha.
  • I bought the letters O, N, E and I am going to spray paint them pink. Have LO wear white and take an aerial shot of her holding each letter. Then I want to make a 3 picture collage so it'll spell out ONE.... saw it on Pinterest and it looked so cute. I like the balloon and smash cake idea too... I'm on spring break next week so I'll  have way too much time to play around with this!

  • Our photographer provides a smash cake. I brought balloons for DS, as well as the drum he got for his birthday, and some books that he liked reading. He was/is very busy, so anything that could get him to sit long enough for a shot was well worth bringing. BTW, he was disgusted by the cake and wouldn't touch it. Not sure if I'll bring anything for DD2. Haven't given it much thought yet. Mother of the year here.

  • I got a diaper cover, tie, and party hat set from etsy for his at home cake smash pics on his actually birthday. For his party on the weekend I just got a cute t-shirt that has a 1 and will reuse the party hat
  • Ours won't be birthday photos per se - just family photos around his birthday. We are likely going to do them on the boardwalk near the beach. What is killing me is what to wear for everyone. I really want everyone in nice spring outfits, but it will still be chilly, especially by the beach. We don't all have nice or non-clashing spring jackets and I also don't want to cover up the cute clothes. It's killing me a bit...
