Extreme Cramp

Hi All,

I'm in my first trimester, almost to week 8, and this morning I had an extreme, painful cramp in my abdomen. It only lasted a few seconds, but it took the wind out of me. Now I'm terrified that I may miscarry. I've been running to the bathroom every 10 minutes to see if I'm bleeding, but nothing, no spotting. I miscarried about a year ago at week 6, and I've been stressing ever since I found out I was pregnant that it could happen again. Has anyone else ever experienced this?

I'm at 7 weeks with my first and I've had sharp cramps like that since week 5!  I needed help conceiving so I've been at my fertility specialist every week since week 4 and I've asked her several times if the cramping (even sharp cramping) is normal, and she said it is. She said it is your uterus expanding and sometimes it causes the sharp pains.  I'd ask your own doctor for sure, but i've received some comfort from that and I hope it helps ease your mind that others are experiencing the same thing!  Good luck!

Have u experienced gas cramps yet? I was terrified Sunday something was wrong and then I realized it was gas but im with u constantly checking if im bleeding I hope once the second trimester kicks in I'll be less scared of something going wrong.

Thank you for giving me some relief...I just want the second trimester to hurry up and get here! My first OB appointment is on Monday, 4/6, can't get here soon enough!
