Morgan for the most part was a calm baby. A few times she screamed for hours. My Mom, an experianced Mom of 7, showed me her trick. She turned on the vacuum. Morgan stopped crying in seconds and fell asleep.
The Happiest Baby 5 S's (suck, shushing, swing, side/stomach position, swaddle) worked like a charm for my daughter! When she was super fussy I would very loudly go 'shhhhhhhhh' in her ear and she quieted right down.
I'm a photographer and whenever I have a newborn that won't settle after trying the 5 S's I can usually get them to settle by rubbing above their eyebrow. I start between the eye and gently rub to the outside of the brow bone. This makes them close their eyes and tends to soothe them.
My first had colic 24/7. The only thing to quiet her down was to bounce up & down on an exercise ball.
Mine had colic too. I'm sending hugs your way... That was tough. I spent many hours bouncing on an exercise ball in my bathroom with the bathroom fan on... However The Baby weight came off quickly and the only price was my sanity!
I agree with the 5S's from the happiest baby on the block. we initially used our vacuum, but then found vacuum noise on you-tube that's like 6 hours long i think so you don't have to destroy your vacuum.
