Need Suggestions

I want to go ahead and start picking up baby essentials as I can, and registering for a baby shower my sister is throwing me. We are frugal and we also have a small house. The baby will have a nursery, but it will be on the small side. What are some things that I will need for a newborn baby?

A swing is a must for me.

I found the baby carrier to be a lifesaver. It let me do stuff with both hands while holding the baby.

We're in the same spot, I would say the essentials would be a crib or cradle somewhere for them to sleep, a swing or bouncer might be nice so you can set them down and have them entertained. Changing tables and Matt you don't need. As long as you got a blanket you're fine. Blankets for the baby, and towels, clothes, bibs stuff like that. In my opinion babies don't need shoes socks are fine. Where are they gonna walk? A baby bath is probably something you'll need.

Baby carrier, yes. Ergobaby 360 is my personal favorite, it didn't kill my back, I could wear it even within a couple weeks of my c-section, and especially because you can try out different positions as they get older. We've never had a changing table, and we were super poor when my daughter was born (she was a grad school surprise! Haha), so we couldn't even afford to buy a crib and she slept in a pack-n-play until like 10 months when we'd finally saved up for a good quality crib. (Idk, maybe that's too frugal? Haha) It's worth it to get a good car seat, and definitely buy a new one, but wait until they go on sale. Travel systems are awesome, you can just snap the infant car seat right into the stroller, which is awesome because you don't have to wake the baby up taking them out of the car! Target seems to do a sale a few times a year. Also, clothes can be really simple for the first few months. Especially because our babies will be born in the fall, some warm PJs and play clothes, and we had a couple nicer church outfits. And, we live in a colder climate, so during the winter we used a HALO sleep sack for our daughter (safer than blankets for little babies) and it was awesome! We got one of the sleeveless ones so that we could use it after she started rolling over (since you can't swaddle anymore after that). We also used muslin blankets for swaddling. So much better than receiving blankets. Sorry for the novel, but I hope it helps! This is just my experience with what worked for us :)

Oh, and definitely make sure you have a laundry stain remover ;) haha

Receiving blankets come in super handy for just about everything from swaddling (although a bit bigger of a blanket that is strechy is good for this too), positioning baby property in the car seat, and burping baby. I also use sleep sacs once baby is too big to be swaddled but to little for blankets. And pacifiers, I ♡ pacifiers lol
