I have no plans on using any hormonal birth control. I have used it in the past and while it did help regulate my cycles, I don't like the risks that come with it and I don't like taking medicine that isn't really medically necessary.
We will probably go back to using condoms, possibly along with NFP. Once we decide we want a gap between kids or that we are done, I may look into a copper IUD. At this point since I know I want baby #2 in the next 2-3 years an IUD doesn't sound like a good option
I HATE birth control. I was off it when I got pregnant and I guess I truly learned how easy it is for me to get pregnant. It was like the 3rd time I had sex after getting off I got pregnant and I thought we were being careful. We didnt do anything out of the usual. I was looking into the IUD but I honestly haven't heard many good things about it. One girl I know is on her 2nd child while using an IUD. Uhhh

I plan on getting mirena. I loved it last time I had one in for 4 years with no trouble. I don't recommend the diaphragm, I got pregnant several years ago the first time I used it.
My sister got an IUD put in after her first then had it removed about a year later and quickly got pregnant with her second baby now she has decided to get her tubes tied her surgery is on monday.
I'm getting my tubes tied. We are done. Before this pregnancy I had the copper IUD for 3 years. My periods went from 3 days to 9 heavy days. After 3 years of heavy periods I wanted to try the Mirena. DH said my moods changed but I don't know. I really didn't like the Mirena because I spotted so much and never knew when my period was coming. I ended up taking it out myself after a few months. (Don't try that at home kids) Talk with your doctor to find out whats best for you.
I'm not going back on birth control. I'm horrible at remembering to take the pill and I was on the shot for a little while and I had terrible mood swings and it took me awhile to get pregnant after stopping the shot.
I'm going back on implanon/nexaplon. It worked really well last time I was on it, getting pregnant wasn't right off the bat but we weren't in a hurry, just having fun while trying lol
Defiantly going on bc. Just not sure what since I will be breast feeding. We don't use condoms and dh won't get snipped so I may eventually get my tubes tied since this is our last.
No hormones for me. As long as I've EBF I don't get my period and don't ovulate. It takes up to 18 months for my period to return. Then I temp and do NFP. Not religious reasons, just personal preference.
I have PCOS and many different kinds of bc cause me issues. I can pretty much only use the pill. I'll probably just go with that if I feel I need to. Hubby and I may just "start having kids" now that we've got one coming already. We plan on having at least a few more anyhow.
I never had any issues with birth control so it's quite possible that I'll just get back on the pill. I'm too afraid to try pull out method and DH won't go for condoms.
I haven't really been thinking about that.. Obviously I will have to find something that is ok during breastfeeding period. Before I was using Evra plasters, I've heard great things about implant.
This is exactly my biggest problem right now. I hate hormonal BC, makes me crazy. But I also don't want a copper IUD that I'll have to get removed to have another baby. I have no idea what I will do. This pregnancy is due to our dislike of condoms so that's clearly not an option . Maybe abstinence? Haha jk
I will probably go back on the pill, but one that is ok during breastfeeding. I like NFP and temping which we did for several months before deciding to try for a baby, but I'm not sure if that will be reliable enough while breastfeeding and temps wouldn't be accurate since I'll probably have an irregular sleep schedule for a while. So after breastfeeding I'll probably switch back to that method.
I'm thinking if getting my tubes tied. This is our second and last. My mom had her tubes tied and then a year later had my brother. So my husband said he should get snipped too--just to make sure!
We're going back to condoms since I've had awful side effects from every bc I've tried to use (pills, nuvaring, the shot, ugh). I do hope to exclusively breast feed so it may take a while for my cycles to com back anyway. When we're done having kiddos the plan is for DH to get snipped since that's a less invasive procedure than getting my tubes tied.
Yeah well I won't be having sex while breast feeding since hubby will be deployed, but after breast feeding, definitely getting some kind of contraceptive. Hubby won't use condoms and they do bother me. I am very sensitive. There's only one kind of lube I can use that doesn't break me out. I was on the pills for a while and I think I'm just going back to pills. I was on the nuvaring before I got pregnant and will never go back.
@christym87 mine doesn't refuse but I know he doesn't like it and would probably complain. I don't know maybe it's an intimacy thing with me being his wife. On the other hand if I refuse to be on birth control he wouldn't make a fuss either.
I plan on going back on birth control but definitely not the pill. This baby was conceived while on the pill lol Thinking about the nexplanon, I know a lot of people who have it and like it.
What is with all the significant others refusing condoms? I bet they wouldn't like it if we refused the pill
He tells me he used condoms in his crazy days with random one night stands and stuff. He said I'm his wife and he doesn't want to use condoms with me bc he doesn't feel connected to me during the intemency. Which I agree and understand completely. It's my choice to be on birth control bc I don't want to have another child any time soon. He doesn't want me to bc he knew how it's affected me in the past.
I was on BCPs forever. I won't be going back after this baby but most likely will after we have a second baby (we will try soon for a second). I would go back on BCPs after that until we are sure we are done then DH a will get vasectomy. I think you should talk to your OB about the IUD, it's a good option for some, I personally wouldn't get one at your age if you plan to have more kids in the future.
I was on bc pills for nearly 18 years and have no interest in ever taking them again. This is our first LO. Planning to EBF but would be thrilled if I got pregnant right away. We want 4 kids and since I'm already 32 I don't want to push my luck with father time.
I was on the pill for about 15 years before TTC and then it took us 3 years and IVF to get prego. We have unexplained infertility so pretty sure they are unrelated. I never had any trouble being on the pill. We plan to use condoms for a bit. We have an embryo frozen still so we plan on waiting until I am done beast feeding then will try to implant our frosty and cross our fingers it takes. If not, we plan to try for a year or two and then at some point we will just give up and my husband will get snipped. I am 34 now so I think by 38 if it hasn't happened we will just be a family of three.
I had an IUD for 5 months post DS1, though I had no pain I did bleed for the whole time. Out of annoyance I had it removed. I know others who it was a total success for, so I was a little disappointed. Used the neuvo ring for the remainder.
This time around I'm unsure, will probably go back to the ring. After we're all done having kids, husband will get snipped.

I plan on having another Mirena. They've been awesome for me in the past. No periods, or nasty side effects. The worst part of getting them is the pain of insertion, and cramping after. I anticipate less pain than before because I will have given birth to twins.
@efunk21 I was on the Nuvaring too Before I got pregnant. I was on it for 2 years and never had any problems. But towards the end of those 2 years I started feeling a lot of pain when having intercourse so that's when I took it out. Have you ever felt that?

I had an IUD for 5 years before I took mine out and it worked great. I loved it never had a periord but did spot off and on. It did take me some time to get pregnant with my second one but it also took awhile with me first. This time I will be getting my tubes tied since I'm having a CS...
So I had reported on earlier post my sis was getting her tubes tied well there tied now.. she says she feels little to no pain and it wasa lot easier than she had thought.
