Question regarding showing and a tilted uterus ......

So, I have a very forward tilted uterus. I am 11 weeks right now and i can tell that i am showing a bit. I have heard that with a forward tilted uterus it is common to show earlier and be bigger. Has any other mommy dealt with this? Has anyone read anything about this by any chance? I am just hoping for some discussion on this topic so thank you ladies.

Re: Question regarding showing and a tilted uterus ......

  • My doctor has told me my uterus is tilted but he didn't specify which direction. If it's tilted forward, I think it makes sense for you to show sooner. I got fairly big with my son and had people asking me if I was close to my due date before 30 weeks. This time, I moved into maternity clothes at 9 weeks. Here I am at 32 weeks with my son.

I have a backward titled. The ultrasound tech told me that during the third trimester when it grows and moves it ends up "evening" out for the duration of the pregnancy. Not sure how accurate that info is, since this is my first .
  • I was told mine would even out eventually as well (before the baby is due) This is my first as well so the fact that I'm 11w 2d and already showing kind of surprised me since every one said that you usually don't start showing with your first until around 15 weeks-ish
  • Yes, I asked my doctor about this. She said it does affect how you carry and show. I asked her when getting a pap which direction mine is and it is tilted back slightly. I was sad because I want to show sooner!!
  • I never knew anything about this until my last appointment when she just asked if i pee like crazy i told her that i wake up 3 times every night and she told me it was because my uterus was already right on top of my bladder. She said that my cervix was also tilted forward significantly so I had no idea that it would really affect anything in terms of showing i was just concerned as to whether it would affect having a vaginal birth.
  • for most women the uterus in it's normal position is tilted forward... but the ultrasound tech was right... with a more anterior (forward) tilted uterus and with a retroverted (backward) tilting uterus as you grow in pregnancy usually around 12-16 weeks it straightens and evens out:) I have a very anterior uterus as well and am 11 weeks today with my first pregnancy and am starting to show a little... mostly just look bloated.

  • I am just speculating here, but I think I have a very anterior uterus. I know it's anteverted rather than retroverted, but I'm one of those who has to pee every 3 seconds from 4 weeks onward, and I tend to show early and get huge. I'm not entirely sure how much my hugeness with my son was because j gained 60 lbs and how much was the position of my uterus, but it makes sense if it's more anteverted.

I would think so as thats what mine is and since i was about 4 weeks i have had to pee constantly and had to listen to people tell me it was too early for me to pee that much from being pregnant. Now that i know what was causing it for a fact it makes a lot of sense.
