Sharp pain left side 36 weeks

im 36 weeks 4 days pregnant and today I've started with sharp pain on my left side. It happened once this afternoon but has returned this evening and is pretty uncomfortable and painful, I can't really move around. I've already had my appendix taken out a few years ago.


Should I be worried?

Sounds like round ligament pain. It's super painful in a localized area for up to 10 min at a time. If you're home, grab an ice pack quickly and it helps almost instantly.

I've tried a heating pad and it isn't letting up. I've called and left a message so I'm waiting to hear back from the OB on call tonight. The pain literally reminds me of how I felt before getting my appendix out.

How long is the pain lasting? Try frozen peas. Ice reduces inflammation and throbbing which is what you need- not heat. Yes- it will be very painful when it does happen so i'm not surprised. Google round ligament pain.
