hi girls! I've been lurking for a while and thought it was a good time to introduce myself. I have a wonderful 16 months old boy and i live in the Amazon, Brazil. I have endometriosis and PCOS, and after 3 years of TTC for our first baby we decided to do IVF. Now we are TTC for a second baby and it's been very frustrating. My doctors told me that getting pregnant would be the best "cure" for my infertility, and that I would probably get pregnant naturally super fast. Well, that didn't happen and after 7 months we are now looking into transferring frozen embryos. I am just very frustrated at my body, I feel like it's broken... I had hopes that would be easier this time around
Welcome. I'm sorry your doctor led you to believe that. No one has a crystal ball. Keep us updated on your FET plans! And I think it's really exciting that you're in Brazil. My dad has been to Manaus before so I actually know where that is!
IVF #1, Stimmed for 12 days, ER 8/22/14, 9 retrieved, 7M, 7F!! Freeze all due to fluid in uterus.
FET end of October 2014 cancelled due to fluid in uterus due to possible c-scar defect
Surgery scheduled 12/12/14 to fix possible isthmocele
3/26/15 transferred one 8 cell grade 4 embryo and one 6 cell grade 3 embryo = slow rising betas for 2+ weeks = ectopic MTX shot 4/29/15
Repeat c-scar surgery June 2015
2nd and last IVF cycle August 2015, stimmed for 12 days, 2 egg retrieved, both mature and both fertilized. Transferred both 8-cell embryos on Day 3, beta 9/5/15 = BFFN
Welcome! I have never heard that about getting pregnant being a cure for infertility. I find that pretty irresponsible for a doctor to say, but I know I was hoping to be one of those stories you always hear about, where someone knows someone who got pregnant naturally the 2nd time. So far I am not ovulating and never have on my own. Alas, pregnancy hasn't cured me. I wouldn't hesitate about transferring some frozen embryos That is great you have some!! I wish you the best of luck!
Hi! I'm new here as well! I am just starting an FET cycle as well! I have never heard from a doctor that pregnancy helps cure infertility, but my grandma has said something along those lines before. Maybe it is more of an old wives tale. Best of luck to you!
Thanks you all! The doctors told me that being pregnant would be a cure because she said the best treatment for endo would be not having periods. the PCOS could get better after pregnancy because my hormones would be all over the place while pregnant and they could be normal after it. It seemed pretty logical in theory.... I have 12 embryos, so I guess I can try a few times. The mais problem now is that my RE is in a different state (a 5 hour flight away) so we really need to plan it and it will probably happen on the second semester
Welcome and wishing you the best on your FET. I just want to say having your RE be a 5 hour flight away seems crazy! And we would complain if our RE was an hour drive away here in the states.
