xp: DIY Cloth Diapers

I first used CDs back in 2011.. I used GMD prefolds and bought a few covers for DD and later used the same ones for DS. Since then I have learned to sew and began making my own diapers for DS last year. I never finished making them all. Now that I am pregnant again I've brought out my "work in progress" and am almost finished with the batch I was supposed to make for DS. I used flannel, sweatshirt fleece, or knit for outer layer, flannel for middle layer, and bamboo fleece for the inner layer (the fabric that will be next to baby's skin). I want to make more diapers, some smaller ones for the early months, but bamboo fleece is out of my budget at the moment. I've come across diaper cotton at JoAnn's and diaper flannel at Hancock Fabrics. I've also read about using bird's eye cotton.
I'd like to know if anyone here has used these fabrics to make their fitted diapers (that is what I'm making), how many layers do you use, and how did you like the fabrics overall.

Thank you very much for your time.
