so I have my lower back pierced. My dimples. Bad decision when I was younger! But I still have one in, unfortunately. The only way you can get them removed is surgically. Can I still get an epideral?
I would guess from what you describe they shouldn't be in the way, although they might interfere with getting a sterile field when placing the epidural. It will probably come down to what the anaesthetist is comfortable with, but no harm asking your doctor.
It's not true that they have to be surgically removed. I had the same thing done, (young and dumb) but I went back to where I got them done and they removed them for me.
I actually had my doctor remove mine way back when. At the time I felt that was a better option than going to a piercer. The doctor gave me a little bit of local anesthesia and just cut them out. Super quick and painless. You should ask your provider, I'm sure they'd do it for you too!
If you go to a Dr you will feel a bee sting to numb you. And sore after. If you really want an epidural I would get out removed and not take the chance.
Agreed, the local anesthesia feels like a bee sting and then you don't feel anything but light tugging while they're removing them. And yes you'll be sore for a couple days.
