Re: Please read this!

  • I personally love this thread lol and it gives me another chance to comment and for it to be bumped one again haha but I am in the same boat as a lot of you. I was also hoping to maybe have a March baby rather than an April one (Im due April 12th) but baby boy is nice and cozy right where he is :) 1 week and 6 days still feels like forever away though.
  • Loading the player...
  • @mnharkcom - I def keep coming back here, especially after reading yet another mucus plug/labor question. I'm due April 30th, hoping baby #3 will think 38 weeks is enough like baby #2 did. Love seeing everyone's babies but thinking I'll be the last to deliver in the group : (
  • @Lida1182 I'm a FTM due April 25 and LO hasn't dropped one bit so I'm there with you. I'm so anxious that he's gonna be a May baby!!
  • For the love of all things sacred. I wish there were topic boards within this forum. Dilating and excited? Post it here. Concerned about discharge? Post it here. Think it's labor? Post it here. Possible pre-eclampsia? Post it here.
  • @emclaughlin613 the problem is people STILL wouldn't pay attention and would post this crap.
  • People just want a quick answer by putting in minimal effort. But that is a great idea @emclaughlin613!

People just don't like to listen. There are 1.9k views on this so people are opening it..

I wonder how many of those views are us coming back to our secret place. ;) This is the only thread where everybody recognizes each other aka "where everybody knows your name." Cheers!

Does anyone else feel like you are going to be the only April baby? I know that is an exaggeration but I feel like there have been so many March babies. My little guy seems very content and unwilling to vacate so I feel like I will be pregnant for awhile. At least I know my drop dead date is 4/14.
I feel this way too. My deadline is 4/16. I'm pretty sure now that I will make it to April, I'm carrying really low though and my family is taking bets on when he will show.
  • lol @amt725 second question should be "I lost my mucus plug, does this mean I am in labor?"
  • I'm leaking fluid all down my legs... Did my water break or am I peeing? Or, the babies head is coming out, should I call my dr?
  • I'm actually excited to be having an April baby, I was kind of worried there would be no one left in March haha..
I was getting a little lonely. On another note - I also haven't been able to find the search bar on this app (though someone just mentioned it's at the bottom so I'm going to take a look). However I also have never posted any questions because pretty much any question I've had has been answered 300 x over or I just ask my doctor. Anyways, great thread!
  • I'm also glad my baby will be an April baby.
  • When I read some of these titles and what they have to say I just think "you want a cookie"
  • I know I want a cookie. Preferably a chocolate chocolate chip one :)
  • Haha, pregnant or not I would always go for a chocolate chip cookie.

Now I want cookies. And also, I feel like I'm in the movie Groundhog Day with some of these threads especially the last few days. Why can't we delete ones we don't want to seeeee?! :((
  • Question.... Am I hallucinating or did the Bump Gods remove the naming board? I am a mobile user and have checked "All Forums" and "Guides" and I don't see it anywhere? DH dropped a bomb on me last night about baby boys name and I need input. :(
  • @keifekm go To community All forums then under specialty you should see it there :)
  • And tell your DH he needs to keep his mouth shut because it's too late in the game now ;) just kidding!

Tell me about it! I kind of thought we had this figured out. :(
  • Were you able to find the name board?

I found it! Thanks for the help! It doesn't seem like there are too many active people over there but it is worth a try. :)

You might have a bit more luck on one of the later month birth boards. I had been lurking in September 2015 a few weeks ago and they didn't seem to mind the name boards so much since they're all just starting out. I think had seen like 5 different name threads on the first couple pages back when I was lurking. Good luck!
  • Or because we like you we might forgive you if you ask on here ;)

I was just going to say that.
My husband talked himself out of one of our names about a month or so ago (of course the one I love) so I started scrambling for a new one. Why do they suck so much sometimes?

This thread is a safe place for nice people without dumb, repetitive questions. So go ahead, share away! ;)
  • Thank you!! You girls are great!

DH and I were in agreement for the longest time on name #1 Maxwell Brode (Brode rhymes with Road. Both Max and Brode are family names for me) and last night he dropped a bomb saying he preferred #2 Maxwell Eastwood (Eastwood is a family name for him). We have a 2 syllable last name if that makes a difference.

We are having baby boy on 4/14 so I am a little freaked out about changing names so late in the game. I know it is selfish of me to "have" both the first and middle names but throughout our pregnancy he never expressed a strong desire to change the name-until last night!! If I knew we could have a 3rd child I would very willingly give up Brode and use is it for baby #3's middle name. It was just such a long hard journey to have this child that DH is gun shy about having another. I appreciate your help and input!! So far the name board seems to like Brode better but it is still pretty even. :)

@juliaandpatrick it sounds like you ended up giving in? That sucks! I will probably end up doing the same to be fair since the first name is still my family name. Just so disappointing to find out he feels this way this late in the game.
  • I think Brode sounds better, but I like when names are split evenly amongst parents if they decide to name after someone. But that's just my take on it. Is your first named after someone as well?
I actually didn't give in but we compromised (I think). We're team green and now have two names for each sex. When Baby comes out we will decide then based on what he/she "feels" like. The name I love is still on the table and I'm fairly certain I can use Baby's cuteness to win my husband over.
  • I like both honestly. Brode is so different but I like it. I have no advice because we agreed if it was a girl she'd have my middle name, if a boy DH middle name. We're having a girl. And we kind of agreed on the first name although he didn't have much of a choice.

I see his point with a family name but he def could've brought this up a while ago. Good luck love. It'll come to you the right decision.
  • Thanks ladies! Our DD has my middle name (also my mother's) so it is definitely time for DH to get a family name. I just wish he would have expressed more of an interest of doing this earlier. I had gotten so used to the thought of using Brode.

Who knows.... Maybe we will be blessed with a 3rd child and we can use Brode after all. I just love the name and it goes back to the 1700's in my family so there is so much history with it.
  • Well I think you're a pretty awesome wife for letting him have it. I'm sure it'll be hard getting use to for the next little bit of time.
  • We are having a lot of repeat threads on here again. Please use the search function prior to starting a new one. Common topics that fall into this are mucous plugs, packing hospital bags, having contractions, and who should be in the room when you deliver.
You know it's bad when women start copying and pasting their previous responses.
Also, we are not doctors. If you have a serious medical question such as "is this labor?" or "did my water just break?", please don't ask us, call your doctor instead.

    Thank you!

Just thought I should quote this baby again since we got off topic from the real purpose of this thread! ;) Lets add membrane sweeps to the list of "oh so commonly discussed" threads!
  • I feel like this is our secret thread since nobody except us reads it lol
  • That's bc there's only a handful of people who actually read existing threads. Everyone else just creates new ones!!! We should bring back the bingo game and start using the repetitive threads to play with. :-bd
  • Thank you for bumping this. I have been crazy busy at work the past few days. Needed some sanity, but all I found was a sea of mucus plugs!

Will confess I like Brode better. Two weeks to go and we are not even close to choosing a name.
  • @ewilson74 if you want a good laugh about mucus plugs make sure to read the "could it be???" thread if you haven't already.
  • I am jealous of all of the people who are progressing. I will probably go to my appointment on Monday and be 0/0. This little guy is so comfy.

Definitely in agreement that 20 posts showing your dilation and effacement status is not necessary! ;) I may start writing "You are having your baby today!!!" on all of them. That's what they want to hear, right???
  • It doesn't matter your progress anyway... unfortunately, you can be at 3cm for WEEKS! (I've learned from experience)
  • For real. I'm not even dilated at all, but not stressing over it. Some people go 0-10 super fast and others just don't. Baby will come when baby wants :) I just remind myself think about when there wasn't all of this technology and women just waited it out in the olden days
