My in-laws have a rug, and it started unraveling while my 3.5 year old nephew was running around the living room. I saw him fall down then start crying, I rushed over and saw some string wrapped around his big toe. The string is similar to fishing line. It had gotten knotted up and when he got caught it acted like a noose. He's still crying about his toe about 30 minutes later. Does anyone have a recommendation for his parents? They are trying to decide if they should take him to the hospital tonight.
I suppose it could be broken, but like my mom always says, they can set a bone as easily in the morning as they can at night. Meaning, it's not going to make it any worse if they wait until the morning to see how he is before taking him in.
Thanks, he finally has settled down, he's about to fall asleep in his uncle's arms. I went to check under the blanket once on his toe and he got extremely agitated at the moving blanket. Hopefully his parents get him to bed easily tonight!
