So, hubby and I were recently inspired to come up with a playlist for delivery day. #1 song: Push It by Salt N Pepper. Lol any other inspirational tunes?
I made one last time (but never got to it). I was more about being cool, calm and collected. I chose a mix of songs that made me happy and calm (classical, Fun!, Jimmy Eat World, etc)
I think mine is going to be all songs I like to relax to and songs that mean something to me. Otherwise I may end up getting irritated with the music and freak out lol
Closing time by semisonic. It was actually written about his impending fatherhood. "This room won't be open until you're brothers and you're sisters come."
I think I'm just going to stick to my old standbys. Something I'll love to consider my baby's "birth song," and one they'll hopefully like to have! Realistically, my kiddo will probably be born while the Dead or Janis Joplin plays haha. I came into this world to the tunes of Crash Test Dummies (Superman specifically). Good music, but maybe a little saddish for my taste when it comes to baby-having!
Breathe – Michelle Branch Get Some Sleep – Bic Runga Can’t Fight This Feeling – REO Speedwagon Under Pressure – Queen Push – Matchbox Twenty Shout – Tears for Fears Baby – Justin Bieber Mercy – Duffy Misery – Maroon 5 Over My Head (Cable Car) – The Fray Baby One More Time – Britney Spears I’m Coming Out – Diana Ross We Made You – Eminem Hurt So Good – John Mellencamp I Wanna Be Sedated – The Ramones Don’t Stop Believin’ – Journey All That She Wants (Is Another Baby) – Ace of Base Let’s Get It Started – Black Eyed Peas My Humps – Black Eyed Peas Born This Way – Lady Gaga Shout It Out Loud – Kiss Stronger – Kanye West Eye of the Tiger – Survivor Push It – Salt-N-Pepa

I was going to suggest this one! We're playing it when I start pushing. Lol
I'm thinking I might need multiple playlists depending on how the delivery is going. If some ridiculous music starts thumping after I've been pushing for an hour I just might lose it! Lol but I think some goofy upbeat songs would be fun if this delivery goes like my last one. Pushed through 2 contractions and she was out! Lol
When I delivered my first son, the doctor made some comment about how the epidural wouldn't numb the feeling of "the ring of fire" I would feel during delivery. And then he sang a few lines from the Johnny Cash song. Lol any JC song reminds me off his delivery now. Lol
I was thinking about this too-- I'm going to make a playlist of songs that make me feel happy, empowered and that will help me kind of tune out everything else. FTM so not exactly sure, but I want to feel as good as I can and be able to tune out some other things if I need to (I'm learning that hospital births can really have a lot of negative distractions).
