My daughter just started saying mom. To her I think it's just another sound she learned, but everyone else insist I count it in the baby book as a first word.
She's only been saying it when upset, she'll go "mom mom mom"
My lo does the same thing when upset (something like ma ma ma). I like to pretend he's calling me, but definitely not counting it a first word.
That's what I figured. I told people it's just a sound, and that she doesn't know what it means and they tell me it doesn't matter! lol Definitely going to wait before writing it in the baby book!
Hate to spoil your party but my son has been doing that for a few weeks now but I don't count it. The day he seems to understand what it means I'll count it but for now it's just a fun sound to each their own thought. His dad still thinks he's in the race for dad to be his first real word
Re: First word... Should it count?
