They bring it up because unlike twins  multiples in the 4s,5s + come with a lot of extra issues and health problems. Many people for their own health, the babies and even for monetary reasons abort additional fetuses. And like this poster said. . .

doctors need to present you with all possible benefits, risks, and outcomes of any medical situation.  why wouldn't they tell you everything...dont take it personally...doctors respect their patient's decisions...but when something goes wrong everyone would be suing these same doctors if they didn't tell you all your options or warn you about potential complications.  i don't really see why they can't just do their job without judgement.

@Limebearer anxious to find out how your scan went and how many babies/how they are doing! I know you said you were going to have one on the first!

I'm going to a catholic hospital for my 3 babies and with all 3 they have told me I needed to do the testing for Down syndrome before 17 weeks so we can abort if I chose too. I always wait till 18 weeks just cause I'm stubborn. But mostly because I don't ever want to have that convo with my doctor and have them try to talk my husband and I in to it.
