NT Scan today

Update: I finally got up the nerve to call at 4:45 today and didn't realize the office closes at 4:30pm!!! UGGGGG..


Ugg... I've been on this board a while and have reassured many other women with high NT scans, but it's so much harder to feel confident myself. We just got back and the baby is fine, measuring 12 wks, but I'm pretty sure my NT reading was on the high side. The baby wasn't cooperating at all, so it took a while,  I really wish I had put the number in my phone but I think it was at least 4.0 if not higher.  I know this is just a screening and just gives you odds, but it's hard not freak out, we should be getting Matern21 results any day and I thinking about how I'll react to bad news. I hate these 1st tri tests!!!! It also took them an hour find my right ovary it was not fun, other than watching little one bounce around and hide his face the entire time..

your matern21 results will be much more conclusive!  Hope they come back soon.  In the meantime, if its bugging you, call your dr and ask what the results were and what that means, if they are concerned etc.  Thats better than spending days or weeks worrying and wondering.

Ugh, I agree these early tests are so stressful.

As far as I understand, 4mm is on the high side, but it in no way means that there will be a chromosomal abnormality.

I hope you get your materni21 results soon, and that you get really good news.

Thanks, I've calmed myself down a bit, I'm guessing if it was really bad they would have spoken to us while we were there. Because I'm insane, I compared DS NT picture with this one and they don't look very different at all, the space is slightly bigger but not big difference. 

It does not help that I also got a call from the nurse to tell me I tested+ for some recessive gene I've never heard of and that DH has to get a blood test too, apparently they didn't test for this when I was pregnant with DS, she said it's unlikely he'll have it, but if he does there's a 20% chance of issues, I hope I get a call today, it's been 9 business days, so finger crossed.

Oh, goodness! That's a lot to have on your mind. Hopefully those M21 results will come back very soon to give you some answers and put your mind at ease.
