Ran across this blog post on Pinterest... wouldn't THIS be lovely? Crossing my fingers that I'll be that one in a million who has a super duper short, virtually pain-free labor - though, if that's the case, hopefully I'll make it to the hospital in time. A girl can dream!
Love Pregnant Chicken! And positive birth stories (like in Ina May's books). Have also been trying to read things like this, to get myself in the right frame of mind. (While recognizing these stories are unique and I need to be prepared for whatever comes.) Three cheers to the power of positive thinking! Hope it works for us both (2 in a million? ;-) )
Pregnant chicken is the stuff. I read this a couple months back and really wanted to be like Moira and have a 30 min labor. Could you imagine, tho? That would be pretty nerve-wracking I think, knowing that once you know its happening, your hubs may not even have time to get home from work! I'd end up living at the hospital
@amark - I know, it's so refreshing to read the good stories! You're right though, Moira's case is definitely unique. I'll consider myself lucky if I just have a labor that's less than 12 hours with no complications
@mellymar - yeah, this is only the second post I've read on there but I think I'm going to have to bookmark the site, because both posts I've read have been fantastic! I agree, on one hand, I think the quickness of Moira's labor would be a relief, but at the same time, if it happened to me, I could potentially be in really big trouble. My hospital is 20 minutes from my apartment... and I think the post said that her shortest labor was like 22 minutes or something like that? That particular scenario could be a completely different kind of labor horror story!
I have mixed feelings. I think if your birth ends in a healthy baby, it's a "positive" birth story. I hate that women get hung up on having these "1 in a million" birth experiences. Every experience can be positive and perfect if you decide to make it that way.

I agree. My 30 hr (failed induction csection) birth story was magical and I wouldn't trade it for the world. It's my story and I'll always cherish the experience. 30 min labour? Where's the fun in that?

Always a good thing to remember! Healthy baby is of course the #1 goal
My labor was sooo fast. I went to the hospital after my water broke. Was already fully dilated. No epidural, and thwenty mins later a beautiful baby boy was born. It hurt of course but was relatively easy.
