My baby shower is in May and im not to sure what else to have . So far I have fruit salad, pasta salad, and small sandwiches. My mind went completely blank after that . Please ladies I need some input on what else would be great for everyone .
I need ideas too haha. We are having mine at the local country club, but the list of hors d'oeuvres they gave me I only like one thing (chicken salad on croissants) so they told me to decide what else I would like to have and I have not a single idea, besides desserts lol. Any other time I could probably think of tons of things to have, but now that it's time to actually decide my mind is blank of course
I guess it depends how formal it is and time of day. I think we're just having finger foods like chips and dip, mini quiches, sausage balls, cupcakes, pigs in a blanket, cake, punch, veggies tray, etc.
I found several things on Pinterest! Just search for baby shower foods and you can find some good ideas. I found an awesome strawberry fruit salad, mini BLT's and several other things I never would have thought of on my own if I hadn't of looked!
Agree with PP that Pinterest is a great place to find stuff! At my wedding shower, my mom and sisters planned for all my favorite foods - so we had ziti, meatball subs, fruit salad, cheesecake, cupcakes, and other random stuff that didn't necessarily go together and definitely was NOT traditional shower food, but was absolutely delicious. I loved it. This time around, my shower is from 1-3, so I think they're going to go with a much lighter menu. I'm not sure though, because my input in the shower has been extremely limited. My sister asked me to make a private Pinterest board with ideas that I liked that they could pull from and I had a little input on the guest list, but other than that, they're taking care of everything!
For my baby shower, my family is bringing a dish to share... we are having meatballs, lasagna, dips, veggie tray, salad, etc. We are doing cupcakes instead of a cake and some people are bringing other sweets as well. My family never goes anywhere empty handed and it is helpful for the host who have other things going on as well.
I want my shower to be super casual and my mom came up with the idea to do a "What has mom been craving table" and it will include a few cravings that I've had throughout the pregnancy! We just thought it would be something fun and differnt. It's always fun to hear all the crazy cravings you can have while pregnant!
My sister is doing a "Ready To Pop" theme at my shower. One of the tables will be set up with different types of popcorn and different candies to add in. Along with that we will have differ t salads and a fruit pizza with some type of small sandwich.
I like the idea of a baked potato bar. The potatoes are done in the crockpot wrapped in tinfoil and then you just have a whole bunch of different toppings, cheese, different sauces, different meats and some cooked and raw veggies. I'm having a shower for my GF and Im thinking I might do this.
At my shower my SIL did a Harry Potter theme since I am using ideas from Harry Potter as inspiration for the nursery. So the food themed around Harry Potter as well, like Reese's PB cup broom sticks, cupcakes with a chocolate snitch. It was cute. The also had fruit and veggie trays.

What a fabulous idea! I honestly just looked at this thread so I can salivate a little. I love thinking about food because it's basically my favorite thing right now.
I want game day appetizers. Hot cheesy dips and jalapeno chicken poppers. Bacon wrapped sausages are great too but I can't stomach bacon. We are a football family so I think my step daughter is planning a football shower and trying to make it a suprise so I'm just going to drop some food hints.
My hostesses are serving brunch for my shower (11am). Menu includes numerous types of quiche, fruit, donut pops, a yogurt parfait bar, pigs in a blanket, etc. We will also have a mimosa bar (or "pregnatini" for me) and coffee. For my hostess gifts I'm thinking of giving them coffee and travel mugs with a cute tag saying "thanks a latte" (or is that not cute?) I have been craving breakfast all pregnancy so when this was suggested I was so excited!
Re: What would be some good foods to have at a baby shower ?
I love the Mexican food idea!! My husband is Hispanic and he thinks it's Hilarious that I crave spicy all.the.time!
