Silly question

So. This is probably a silly question, but I have an ultrasound booked in for just under two weeks time, which according to my lmp will be 12.5 weeks.

But won't I most likely only be 10.5 or even possibly 9.5 from when the baby was conceived?

Will this affect having my ultrasound then or should I wait until a later date?

Everything is based off your LMP so medically, you are pregnant even before conception. always use weeks from lmp and you'll be good! I know it's confusing at first

I had my ultra sound and 9 weeks and we could see the baby and heart beat. It was kinda a little blob but a little beating blob. They can prob be more precise on the date when you get the ultrasound.

Thank you:) so if I get the ultrasound and I say, measure 10 weeks, do I then go back to being 10 weeks pregnant or am I still 12?!

If you measure 10 weeks, then you are probably 10 weeks.  But 10 weeks means that you have actually only been pregnant for 8, with the first two weeks being the start of your LMP.  So in your case, the measurements will probably say that you are 12 weeks.  The measurements are adjusted to the lmp, not ovulation/conception date.

I had my first US yesterday, at 8w5d. However, I know the exact date my LO was conceived, so technically 7w2d. My doc didn't do any "measurements", just went by LMP. Here's the pic I got in hopes it can help you mentally prepare. We got to see a little movement and hear an awesome HB!

They should have scheduled you for your next one while u were there. You might call them and see what they say.

I had my first us at 7 weeks 2 days. My next won't be until I'm 20 weeks! It would be 12 weeks but we opted out of genetic testing. Everywhere I'd different though. Just call your ob and ask.
