Thoughts on Irish girls name Muireann

I'm originally from Ireland & live in the states now. What do you think of the name Muireann pronounced Mur-in.
How would you think it's pronounced?
Any other suggestions? DH keeps shooting me down on all my other suggestions!

I love it, and the true pronunciation. Unfortunately, in the states, it will be confusing. I'm assuming this is the Gaelic spelling, which is not phonetic so the correct pronunciation is not obvious to English speakers.
Maren might be a more familiar.

I agree with all of this! Beautiful name but will definitely confuse people.

This looks like a strange spelling of Maureen to me, which is probably what my first-glance pronunciation might be. Seconding the suggestion of Maren.
