Re: FABULOUS FRIDAY!

  • I will be drinking all the boozes!!!!

I usually don't drink much but all bets are off this weekend. I'm very down about my wacky cycles so my bottle of Jameson will be coming with me to my mothers on Sunday.
We are having a St. Patricks day feast on Sunday, I don't eat meat but will be carb loading with everything else. Boiled potatoes, homemade rye bread (that I will be making) and Irish soda bread will be my dinner. Yum!!!!

Now that I see all the crap I will be eating this weekend I better add the gym both days too.

I hope everyone has a fabulous weekend.
    :)

  • Sorry you're feeling down Hooligans. :(

I kinda wish I could open a bottle of wine tonight. I am feeling very stabby. Woke up with cramps this morning and lower back pain. But my temp actually went up. I could try to get excited about the temps but the cramping felt very much like af. I'm only CD25 though and don't expect af for another 4 days. I wish I had the stretchy pully feeling, then I could get excited. Ugh. I just don't know.

My h is driving to Florida tonight and he says he's coming right back tomorrow but I'm expecting something to come up and keep him there another day. And by that I mean I expect an excuse. So I don't expect any fabulous events this weekend. I'm just hoping to get together with my neighbor for a play date.

I bought some corned beef and cabbage to make for St Patrick's Day but I think my h has to work late that night so I guess that's a bust too.

  • @Guennie, make your corned beef and cabbage even if your husband is working late. You and your daughter can enjoy it. My mom used to tint all our food green when we were little on st. Patricks day. I know your DD is still hound but it's good to start traditions when they are young.
Hope you have a nice play date.

  • @suziq1978 I've wanted one of those forever now!

I just wish AF would show up already. So if the occasion is right, I'll have a drink this weekend too but I've got an appointment with a trainer on Sunday. I could barely move last Monday or Tuesday.
  • I wish I could drink but because of the meds I'm on I can't!!! UGH... Have a drink for me ladies!

Tomorrow I have a wedding to go to and I think Sunday I will make Corned beef and cabbage and Irish Soda bread but I need a good recipe for that!

    Have a great weekend!!!!

  • No drinks here.  That's getting a bit old.  Oh well.

We're meeting my dad for lunch tomorrow (he lives about 1.5 hours away so we're meeting in the middle).  I'm hoping to spend some time outside since it's going to be sunny and in the 50s.  Ultrasound/labs on Sunday.

    Have a great weekend everyone!!

  • @suziq1978 I loooooove my kitchenaid. So much so I have 2. I have the regular one and a 6 qt also. I'm looking into the commercial grade one but they are $600. So that's probably not going to happen. I got my 6 qt one on overstock.com. It was refurbished but I don't care. I got it for $185 and they are usually $400.

And go buy that wine and celebrate your new house!!!!

@Cupcakegal930 I have an amazing Irish soda bread recipe for you....

    1 cup buttermilk
    3cups flour
    2t baking powder
    1/4t baking soda
    1/2cup melted butter
    1T caraway seeds (I don't use them)
    1 cup sugar
    1t salt
    1 egg
    3/4 cup raisins

-Soak raisins in hot water for 5 minutes then drain (dust with flour right before you add them to the dough)
    -pre-heat oven to 375*
-sift all dry ingredients then mix together
-add melted butter, egg and buttermilk
    - when well blended add the flour coated raisins.
-shape dough into a ball and put it in a greased and floured round cake pan.
-using a serrated knife make a large X across the top.

    - bake 10min at 375 then reduce to 350 and bake an additional 50 minutes.

    This recipe is amazing.
I love it toasted with some butter.
I'm drooling just thinking about it.

  • @hooligans4 - I've been wanting one forever but haven't wanted to drop $400 or $500 on it so when I saw this one on craigslist I couldn't resist.  H is already super excited about buying attachments and talking about making his own pasta.

Your first sentence made me giggle snort. Sorry you are feeling down. Maybe your workouts will help....i know when I'm good about workouts its always a moon boost.

Hubby and I are trying to get friends together to go to a local brewery tonight. (hubby is a fan of craft beer) Lord knows i need more alcohol! lol. After St. Paddys day i am trying to stop with the beer and wine and stay low carb. Ive been bad because my emotions are in control lately. However, i feel like a blob and that feeling usually gets me back on the wagon. So i will be enjoying whatever booze i want this weekend before i say no more!
