FFFC- Flame Free Friday Confessions ! 3/13

edited March 2015 in June 2015 Moms
alright! It's time to 'fess up ladies!

Here's mine, I hate/love stalk other pregnant friends on Facebook and I secretly love that it I'm handling the whole weight/body image thing and all the symptoms much better. I know, it's unkind.

  • I just ate an entire fruit by the foot in bed and have no guilt about it. I feel no guilt about my poor diet choices.

  • I've been stalking back thru the March, February, January boards birth announcements to see if anybody has named their kid with the names we like. Completely guilty of name hoarding and jealousy

I pretended not to notice the blue cheese in my pasta salad the other day. Sooooo gooooood. :D:D:D
  • I'm having a burger for dinner two nights in a row. Last night was just a Wendy's Baconator, tonight I'm meeting a friend at some kind of gastropub place known for its burgers. No shame, here.

  • Oh, and also, I failed my one hour glucose test - @FloGirl82 is right, it doesn't taste terrible. And then they stick you, no big deal. Anyways, I failed my one hour test yesterday and waited till DH left for his part time job, then had some girl scout cookies to soften the blow and become optimistic about the 3 hour one next week

That stinks! I hope the one next week goes better!

Same here!! I failed by 6 points and I have to take my 3 Hour next Friday. Let's hope we both pass. I'm just worried about being bored the whole time-I'm bringing my tablet and will watch a movie while I wait. I'm hoping for the best, but expecting the worst. Best of luck to you!

  • @karaelaine1991 @FloGirl82 I'm not too worried about it. I went in knowing the statistics seemed to be like 50% of women fail the 1st time (at least my unofficial statistics from reading our thread on it for 1st timers, and some actual statistics I read somewhere else on the 3 hour) and 85% who go back pass, so while I didn't tempt fate by eating a sugary breakfast or anything, I didn't really think I would pass. Just, yes, it will be boring. Glad I like to read. And I have to fast. I'll be starving. That sucks. Oh well

I get annoyed when people freak out when someone on here mentions they are having a sprinkle... Like first of all who cares it has nothing to do with you and in some families/ areas it is common and acceptable.... I don't mind when people weigh in on proper etiquette for them (like don't expect one and don't register) but having one is really not the end of the world! I wonder if people are just jealous that no one is having something for them....

I agree, I would NEVER host one for myself, just like I would NEVER host my own shower, but my SIL has already told me that if/when I have another baby, she wants to host a sprinkle since she's not able to host a shower this time around. It's completely unnecessary for her to do that, but I so appreciate that she cares enough to do something like that for me and my family. If the time comes and she offers, I'll gladly take her up on it!

  • I had to unfollow (not unfriend a friend ofn FB, because all she does is post about her daughter's "bad behavior". I just want to scream at her that it is all your fault...if you don't like it you can change it (it is stuff she could totally control if she wanted to, not todler develepment behavior stuff).

  • I did my undergrad and grad work at the University of Illinois. My husband went to Iowa State. I've been rooting for Iowa State in basketball this year and not paying attention to the Illini (hangs head in shame).

Don't worry! We're Hawkeyes by since they lost to Penn State we have to cheer for the Cyclones. Lol

I haven't been able to post on the "healthy snacks" thread because I turn all of my healthy choices into junk. I dip my apple slices in caramel, I add crushed up candy bars to my yogurt and have been eating baked potatoes (loaded) like they're going out of style for a week now.

Oh me too! I have nothing to share ... My diet is terrible but awesome. Shamrock shakes and Five Guys burgers. And donuts.
  • @hoodoll82 naw, you're one of my BFFs. (@finchfeeder80, too, even though/especially because she calls me out on my $h*t). I missed the name change somehow, but since we're tight, I still know it's you. Besides, I'm one of the jerks who doesn't mind weight talk. We've all got our thing. My MO in life is just try to be sure I'm a net positive impact, despite my significant flaws.

The board is over-regulated?! The daily/weekly threads are my favorite actually. I'm reading fewer of the others...

@amark11 Yeah this site is super wonky. This is my "original" user name, which I changed about a month ago when the site started doing crazy things - like that one day it posted my real name! Then a few days ago it changed back on me to the old old name. I even logged directly into the Bump site and it won't let me change anything anymore. Soooo many bugs on this site... But I kept the names similar (starts with "Hoo", a nod to my alma mater) so I think I'm still recognizable!
  • I totally swore I'd stay off caffeine and junk food. I caved... I definitely don't stay off junk food and I don't feel guilty, but I feel guilty about the caffeine Lol!
  • @hoodoll82 I read that comment yesterday and didn't understand. I love the organization. I think it was keeping a lot of the redundancy to a minimum and it definitely encouraged people to stop reposting the same questions in 10 different threads. Don't let the anti- organizers get you down!

For now I'm just grabbing some virtual popcorn and watching the shit go down today... Name threads and weight threads, oh my... I'm enjoying the snark tonight!

  • I've noticed the weight ones get alot of attention today. Haha entertainment

Oh!!! Five Guys French fries too!!
  • @amark11, I'm glad you haven't taken anything I've said harshly. And today I was totally thinking you were saying the hormonal thing sarcastically. After spending some time reading a few other boards, especially the hot mes first tri board, the people blaming hormones thing was fresh on my nerves. :) Your comment played right to my confession of the moment.

I'm one of the old meanies and sometimes I just gotta call it straight. Very rarely do I ever say anything in mean spirits. I may be grumpy at times but I'm not a jerk just to be a jerk.

Wow, and this is what happens when it's past my bedtime at the end of a long week: emotional diarrhea. :-)
