Intro...new to this board

Hi there! I'm part June 2015 birth club but I thought I'd check this group out in hopes of finding others who are going through similar things. After checking out some of the topics in this group, I figure I should introduce myself before I chime in anywhere.

I am of "advanced maternal age" (I'm 36), have gestational diabetes, and a shortened cervix. Right now I'm about 27 weeks. I had an emergent cerclage put in at 23 weeks since I started dilating due to an incompetent cervix (who made up that term?! I had no idea my cervix had a performance rating). I had 1 round of steroid shots just in case I delivered early. I'm getting weekly progesterone shots (Makena) and on modified bed rest until the doc says it's ok to go back to work or I may have to wait until I deliver.

I'm interested to learn about others' experiences to get some insight. I'd like to share some of my experiences as well. I'm about to have my second child yet everything feels so new!
