water?

My son is about 10.5 months old. I have read conflicting articles about whether or not I should be giving him water to drink.  He nurses/gets breast milk from a bottle about 4-5 times a day equaling about 24oz . I was just curious what anyone else has heard about giving breastfed babies water.  I'd appreciate any insight :)

We started offering water once or twice a day when DS was about 8 months old. I'll leave his sippy cup out for him to play with and give him water during meals. With free access to it, he drinks maybe 2oz a day. It's more like a fun toy.

We put water in a sippy at meal times for our 7.5m DD. I'd speak to your pedi about it.

Our pedi. told us after 6 mo., he could have water and suggested giving him a bottle if water at night so he'd stop expecting milk and maybe STTN. It didn't work very good. But he drank the water just fine. I've also used it for sippy cup training so we don't waste any liquid gold in the process.
