Is it realistic to keep this secret? And a clothes question..

So, we are now 16 weeks + and haven't told anyone but our parents. Not siblings, coworkers, employees, close friends. No one. Now that we've made it this far, I am wondering if we can hide this until the a/s in less than 3 weeks? Did you all get noticeably more pregnant between 16 and 19 weeks? Will it be impossible to hide? Also, I will end some new clothes pretty quick here. I found some nice dress pants for work at ann Taylor clearance and a few pairs of jean capris for summer. I can't seem to find any regular jeans that fit ( I just keep ordering online and returning). I don't fit well into skinny jeans as I have short and thicker legs and that seems to be all that's out there. And how about some just normal cotton t shirts for summer? Nothing that says cutesy things or has ties or designs, just soft tshirts. Any thoughts? I really haven't liked anything old navy and I'm tired of pea in a pod website as they cancel my orders every time I order something. I just want good quality clothes that aren't $80 a tshirt. Thanks for any help!

I'm interested to hear if anyone has any other places to check too. I am not thrilled with old navy either. Since this will be our one and done I don't want to spend a ton of $ on clothes

If this is your first baby, then you will probably be able to hide it for 3 more weeks. This is #2 for me, and I swear I started showing at like 10 weeks!

Tshirts I haven't really seen, maybe just get a bigger size then you typically wear?! Maternity clothes are crazy expensive, but the cheaper places I have found them are Burlington Coat Factory (never even knew they sold baby clothes), Ross, TJ Max, (those 2 aren't great, but they are cheap), Target, and Kohls. Pants are hard for me too. For some reason maternity jeans I find are for people who are like 6 foot tall, the only pairs I find that fit with length are Old Navy maternity jeans. If you don't want to buy maternity clothes or pants, I would say just go a size or two bigger then you wear now- you can always get that belly band thing too. I also wear a lot of yoga pants (non maternity).

I would think that if you've been able to hide it this long, you should be able to hold out a bit longer.  Do you live somewhere that is starting to warm up a little?  I think lightweight jackets can help you camouflage.  And I had some large flannel shirts that I noticed didn't show my bump as much when I was around 20 weeks in the fall.  

For shirts, I've done a combo of Motherhood Maternity and regular shirts that strech (although those are reaching their limit now).  For pants, I am short with thick legs and I've liked the LOFT maternity jeans best.  Granted, I just suck it up and wear skinny jeans, even though I look even sillier with my swollen legs...but whatever.  I also got some shorter leggings from Motherhood Maternity that I really like.

I found some shirts at gap that are nice and also a few things at a maternity consignment store. Check around your area to see if there are any consignment shops (sometimes ones that sell kids stuff also sell maternity too). It's usually decent stuff for cheaper.

I love my gap tshirts I've gotten, I have a really long torso anyway so it's really hard to find long enough tops but these are perfect. And I have one pair of loft maternity skinny jeans and one pair gap dress pants so far

I've been living in MM long sleeve shirts and need to go invest in some short sleeved ones. I love Targets stretchy short sleeve vnecks, but they are $20 a piece. Jessica Simpson mat jeans have been a life saver!

I would wear what you are comfortable in but when you start to get uncomfortable just make the switch to maternity clothes - you'll be happy you did.  I had a lot of MM stuff from my pregnancy with DD, and I'm not incredibly happy with the fit all the time.  I am right on the border of petite/short length and regular length so this pregnancy I had to buy regular length pants for work and have them hemmed.  I have some cute pieces I picked up from Tar.get.  But I hate the maternity jeans I have - they are constantly falling down and looking dumpy.  Have hardly worn them at all.  I need to try something else in that department.

Thanks! I just spent too much money at GAP website on plain tshirts and I tried a few pairs of clearance jeans too. Fingers crossed!

I'm at 11 weeks now, I definitely have s little bump (I have x2 though). But I have been able to do the hair elastic trick to buy myself a little more time in my regular pants. It kinda gives you another inch or so.
I also found a cute consignment boutique that I scored some great finds. I'm convinced that jeans must be bought new though, second hand ones just don't fit right.

Kudos to you from keeping it from your coworkers. Mine saw me running to the bathroom often to get sick. They caught on pretty quick! Lol

Have you looked at minefornine.com? It's like rent the runway for maternity clothes. You can rent for a month at a time I think. I have so many hand me downs that I haven't explored it too much, but may be an option?

Thredup.com is an online consignment shop that you can search maternity for and get a big discount. Again, haven't tried it, but may be worth a look?

I was able to camouflage until 23/24 weeks, as a FTM.

Don't waste a lot of money on maternity tops, they charge a lot more for nothing! I'm almost at 38 weeks now, and I haven't needed to buy maternity shirts, just looser styles in a bigger size. I bought 3 pairs of well-fitting pants at a maternity store, and that was about the extent of my investment in pregnancy clothing.

I was quiet until 20 weeks but I have the luxury of working in scrubs. Target (liz Lange maternity) has some inexpensive tees that flare out from under the bust oh so subtly. Those worked really well for me with jeans and leggings

I'm thinking of making the switch to scrubs at 20 weeks or so and not investing in more maternity dress clothes. I usually dress up, but all the staff wears scrubs so I think I will fit right in. I wear a long lab coat at work that's great camouflage so far!
