Estradiol and progesterone?

Hello ladies. DH and I have been TTC, however since coming off depo it has not been easy. My last shot was in September. My doctor recommended I start Estradiol (21 days) and progesterone (must be started on day14) to get my cycle back. Has anyone else had experience with this? Any side effects? Before taking depo my cycle was like a clock. I appreciate any feedback that you may have. TIA

A lot of us have done estradiol and progesterone.  However, your doctor is absolutely wrong to automatically start you on progesterone on Day14!   Day 14 is the "textbook" day of ovulation, and very few women in the world always ovulate on CD14 without fail.   If your body decides to ovulate on CD16 this cycle, taking the progesterone will have deleterious effects.

At the very least you should start temping, and start the progesterone after you have confirmed ovulation.  Read the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" if you haven't already -- it's an amazing book that will help you stay informed about what your body is doing and when.

Agree with GoldenKeys. Charting is super helpful. I have shorter cycles and usually ovulate between CD 10 and CD 12. Not every body fits working the textbook cycle
