Any off-roading moms?

My family loves to go off-roading. We have several ATVs and UTVs. I was wondering if anyone had experience riding while pregnant.
I know that many of you will say it isn't safe and ask why I would take the risk. But I really would like to hear from moms who at least have some riding experience.

  • I wouldn't do it. We usually go on a ATV camping trip every summer. We ride in and stay a few days wherever we find a spot to put a tent. My friend went at probably 20 ish weeks and she was pretty miserable. Also there are to many factors that could cause problems. I wouldn't do it. You could get accidentally hit by someone, hit something, break down in the middle of nowhere etc
  • We go riding quite a bit each year. I just keep thinking that our UTV is set up to be as safe as a Jeep or car and many of the trails are smoother than some of the roads around our house.
I know that further along in my pregnancy that comfort may be an issue.
    Thanks for your input ladies.
  • We have all sorts of ATVs at our place, I went snowmobiling for a short run at 10ish weeks but as the pregnancy progresses I'll be doing little to no true riding. It's just not comfortable and your balance is off. However, we still do our summer sand dunes trips with the Jeep, by that point we won't be hill climbing, just tooling around and setting up a picnic on the lake shore.
  • I definitely won't be driving or riding double on an ATV. I would only even consider being a passenger in our RZR.
  • I have to quad and sled for work and my doctor said absolutely not.  For my first pregnancy and this one I'm on desk duty for the duration, unless the cutblock is within walking distance of the truck :)
