Middle names for Evie

Considering Evie (Eh-vee) for our little girl. Any middle name suggestions?

Re: Middle names for Evie

  • I don't think Evie is substantial enough for a name. It's a great nick name, but I don't think it will age well. Also, you know, the pokemon.

  • I would think Evie would be pronounced Eve-E by most people, so take into account that you'll be correcting pronunciation a lot. I think that spelled "Evy" would would be move of the pronunciation you want.
I agree that it seems like more of a nickname. Love it as a nn for Evangeline, Evelyn, or even just Eve/Eva.

Yes. The correct and widely known pronunciation for the name Evie is EE-vee. I would think that you'd be, not only, correcting everyone but also confusing them with the pronunciation Eh-vee.

I would suggest Evelyn, Everly, or Ever (although the last two suggestions are not true and proper, but still used). The prefix sound of these names at least makes the Eh sound that you're after and not the EE sound of Evie.

  • I would always pronounce that like EE-vee. I also agree it's a good nn, but too short and informal for a first name. What about just Eve?

  • I like your pronunciation, but I would go with a different spelling. But the way you're pronouncing it definitely makes it feel like a full name, like Eva or Eve.

Evy Michelle was the first thing that came to mind. I quite like it :)
