New Member! First cycle of Clomid!

Hi all! New to the group, felt like I needed some support right about now.

DH and I have been married for 4 years and TTC for around 2 years now. I have been off birth control for a while now, and have fairly regular cycles EXCEPT I tend to ovulate on CD17ish and then get my period around 7 days later which my RE classified as "Luteal Phase Defect". Fortunately everything else for DH and I came back normal, so the RE wanted to try a round of Clomid to see if that would make my cycle normal enough!

I took 50mg of Clomid for 5 days (Feb 22 - Feb 26) and then had an ultrasound and bloodwork on March 3rd. Turned out I had three bigger follicles- with one standing out at 18cm! So the RE had me give the HCG injection tonight, and start scheduled intercourse!

More bloodwork in a week, so we'll see how things go!

Good luck to you! I just finished my 4th round of clomid (this time at 100mg). The only side effects that I had was mood swings. I feel like I have turned into a crazy person, and some headaches. Other than that, not other side effects.

Good luck to you!!!! I am also on my first round of Clomid 100mg after Femara didn't work. Have an US scheduled for tomorrow. Hopefully my follies have grown to desired size this time.

Thanks!!! Questions for you ladies on Clomid - what type of injection did they use for you trigger injection? Urine (just the generic IU - either 5000IU or 10000IU) or Recombinant (Ovidrel 250mcg)? Thanks!!!

Hi! On my first clomid cycle and day 3 of tablets. I haven't had any side effects at all....which surprised me..I kinda feel like I needed something to happen so I know it is working.
I am wondering what is everyone having done to monitor how clomid is working for you...as I have only been told that I need to do a blood test on day 21 to know if I ovulated but there seems to be alot of people having ultrasound done etc.
Also what is trigger shot?

I went for my US today. My follies all grew to desired size!!!!! I'm soooooooooooooooo happy. RE prescribed Novarel as a trigger. I'm supposed to give it to myself tomorrow night and go in for AI Monday morning. So excited and hopeful.  Wish me luck ladies!!!!!!

  A trigger shot is an injection prescribed to induce ovulation after being stimulated with pills like Clomid, Femara, etc. Good luck to you!!!

@FLY106 - good luck!!!!! I had pretty bad lower back pain and cramping after I took my trigger shot- how did yours go??

Hey @lutealphasesucks!! Mine wasn't that bad except for the need to pee all the time and some cramps. I had my appointment for IUI today. Still feeling crampy and peeing all the time. Have to take progesterone starting on the 12th and then BETA on the 26th.

Started Crinone gel today for me! It was pretty easy. Hope your IUI went well

Fingers crossed for you! Is the shot like a hormone booster? I'm on my first round of Clomid and at day 9 I start my estradiol patch.
