so I've been fighting a light stomach bug (slight nausea with diarrhea) for 4 days now. I feel like I read somewhere a long time ago that sometimes the cramping from diarrhea can lead to contractions. Is this real? Or an old wives' tale?
I was sick at 35 weeks with my second and the dehydration caused caontractions. However, the contractions were not doing anything. After being hydrated they all stopped and she was born at 38w 6 d
^ ditto dehydration causing contractions. I was severely dehydrated during xmas due to the flu and my OB had me go to the ER for several bags of fluid. Everything calmed down and have been fine ever since.
I was admitted to the hospital due to a stomach virus that caused dehydration. The dehydration was causing me to have and feel contractions. At one point I was having contractions every 2 mins. Thankfully, I didn't dilate and they were able to get my contractions to stop.
Thanks yall! I saw the dr today. He confirmed that the cramping from the diarrhea can definitely cause contractions to start up, and said that it's one of the benefits they saw in automatically giving enemas when you went into l&d. But thankfully, no dilation even with nonstop Braxton hicks.
