Hello J15 Bumpies!
Starting a symptoms thread for hump day a little early and apologizing for my absenteeism these last couple of days, DH and I moved (woo-woo!).
So share it all here! The good, the bad, the ugly.
Hope you all are well! >:D<

Re: Daily Symptoms Thread - Weds 03/04

  • I am itchy and have crazy heartburn right now. I don't know which is worse... Oh and it's 3 in the morning! I want sleep!!!! Sorry for whining. Congrats on your move!
  • Loading the player...
  • I have insane heartburn and it's keeping me up!! Luckily baby is awake too so I can enjoy that :)
  • Not a pregnancy symptom, but I'm pretty sure I've caught DH's cold...he was miserable all weekend because of it :( calling my OB ASAP to see what (if any) cold medicine is safe for me to take at 27 weeks. I want to get this out of my system!

  • I'm stressed and emotional but it's not really pregnancy related. My boyfriend mom has been being real hateful towards me needless to say I've gone thru some tissues the last couple of days
  • Today I feel much better than yesterday, esteem-wise. I'm blaming it on the hormones, and I usually feel pretty good about myself, but yesterday I just felt like I looked fat and grotesque, my skin was awful and blotchy, and I was upset I wasn't able to work out because because of whacking my knee against the coffee table the other day since it was so sore. I just wound up breaking down last night and went to bed at 7:30 to spare my husband of my attitude. LO kept me up kicking (a good thing) for some of the night. This morning, I decided I today would not be like yesterday. I feel much better and am trying to have a better outlook on myself and things in general. And I'm going to workout!

I think I am getting the dreaded sciatica issues you've all been mentioning ... Really stiff and painful every time I move from laying down to walking!
  • Heartburn and uptick in charley horses in the middle of the night. Slightly itchy bump.

On a side note I had my first prenatal massage yesterday and it was wonderful!
  • I actually slept through the night. Shew it's about time. MH has been home from work the last few days and it's been wonderful. We've actually had much needed alone time (well him taking care of me time but whatever)!! I'm slightly panicking about some reading I did about passing chickenpox to the baby if I have a shingles outbreak after he is born. So I have to make a tough decision about breast feeding and some other things. :( I'll probably start an AW, help me make a life decsion thread soon.

FYI itchy skin sufferers I took an oatmeal bath last night and I feel like a new person. Also found an oatmeal lotion by Aveeno. It's pretty great stuff!
  • This morning DH had to help me put on my boots because I was struggling to bend around my bump. I'm thinking it's time to invest in some new slip-on shoes since the weather is being bipolar here and it decided to rain on moving day after weeks of sunshine and dry air, ruining my other ones. Also, I think there's a good chance I sprained my pinky toe for the thousandth time.
As far as the more pregnancy-related symptoms, I'm itchy and bitchy. I forgot to put on more lotion when I left for work and now there is a needy toddler draped over the weakest spot on my twig arm and I am just not in the mood for it, I'm blaming hormones...hopefully I can take a nap later and turn this day around.

Hope you start feeling better! A cold during pregnancy is on my low list of things that sound like a good time.
  • @FloGirl82 I go through the same thing, some days I feel awesome and confident and other days I feel huge and disgusting and like nothing I own looks good or fits the way I want it to. It's very frustrating.

Thank you! I left a message with my OB and I'm praying that they'll surprise me by saying there is some medicine out there that I'm actually allowed to take... I'm thinking that won't be the case though :/

  • @karaelaine1991 I had a cold about a month ago and there were a few things that my doctor said were okay. I used the saline nose spray and that actually helped a lot! Good luck and I hope you feel better fast!

No shocking symptoms but I'm a teacher and we had open house last night so I didn't get home until 7:30 last night. I'm exhausted today!!!

Thanks for the tip! I'll ask about that when they call me back :)

  • I worked a 12 hour shift Monday and went home with super swollen ankles and feet. Tuesday I had braxton hicks all morning for the first time ever...today I am super exhausted and my feet and back hurt. I am 25 weeks...only 15 to go! Lol
  • Ugh, stupid emotions are driving me nuts! I try so hard to be professional and exude confidence in my job to show that I have it together and am capable but today, every little thing makes me want to cry which is so frustrating, which makes me want to cry even more. I have a bunch of big projects right now and am feeling so overwhelmed when in reality, I know I should be able to handle this, as I have before.

I just want to yell at myself and scream "pull yourself together!!"

I get like that too and I hate it, feeling like you aren't in control of your emotions is not fun. Especially when you're in a situation where you need to be able to be calm, cool and collected.
Hope you feel better, deep breaths! Treat yourself to something good, I would go for brownies and coffee! ;)
  • I feel like a horse... This is my 2nd and I am so insecure this time to make it worse I went to my appt today and dr said you had a good weight jump but your doing great. iv gained 18 at almost 26 weeks my butt and thighs have gotten huge! Oh and my husband just asked if I want to ditch work for nachos and cake

    Cold update!

The nurse called me back. Apparently my OBs have a list of medications that are safe during pregnancy on their website and she referred me to that - I wish that they could have told me that earlier, especially after having to play phone-tag all day (seriously - we called each other back and forth FOUR TIMES today!), but anyway, I'm glad that I know about this resource now!

If anyone is feeling under the weather, here's my OB's "safe list": https://www.premierwomenshealth.org/medications-during-pregnancy.php

Now, off to CVS to pick up some Sudafed!

  • So much lower pressure!!!!! It hurts , had to go in last week had spotting , now the low pressure is getting really annoying ! Doctor says baby is low but was in a lot of pain last night so going back friday for a check !!anyone experience this ?
  • The simplest things like putting on my shoes leaves me out of breath. I've always had asthma but it's like if I bend over for two seconds to put shoes on etc I get up and am just completely winded. I can't wait til I can bring out my toms and just slip them on
  • Heartburn is back for me too! It's the worst...also lots of muscular pain in my belly from the moving and growing...staring to dread the oncoming of the third tri! But doing a happy dance for you early June gals who are already there!!

This!!! Exactly this...well minus the asthma, but feeling breathless and having to maneuver around my "beach ball," as DH calls it, to tie my shoes is not so fun.
  • I don't have heartburn yet but I keep burping up bile- it's so gross! My feet are also really sore, I've been wearing my nikes in the house for support :(

Ew yes this is happening to me! I'll have heartburn and then this will happen. Only good part of it is that it usually does make the heartburn go away, for me.

I'm in that club too!! I told DH it's like all the blood flow is cut off too. Like if I tie my shoes without rising up for a second ill pass out. I also get winded blow drying my hair.

Clumsyness which is probably not a word but tried to cut off my hand with a bread knife while preparing dinner. Good thing my hubby does the dishes because doing them with an open cut on my palm makes me wanna cry. Not to mention the lovely breakdown I had about cutting myself.

I think this is actually considered part of acid reflux, since what causes the burning is the stomach acid coming back up. I read that if you do burp and vomit comes up, even if it is only a little you should spit it out.
  • Besides the teenage acne the stretching and aches in belly are so annoying! When i walk i feel like someone is pulling and pushing my muscles and organs ...such a weird feeling ! Hope next few months fly by for us!

For me too, asthma makes everything and avoiding being winded a thousand times more difficult :(

  • Anyone else with numb areas on their belly? I have a spot near my belly button (or what USED to be my belly button) that is sort of numb. It keeps feeling like I have an itch to scratch there, and will scratch my belly, but at that one spot, I get no relief. Dr. Google tells me it's somewhat normal, but I never experienced this with my first. Having an itch you can't scratch SUCKS!!!

  • I just now noticed that my wedding ring is fitting a bit snug. I can still slide it on and off, but it's snug, for sure. Checked my thumb ring on the other hand and it's not as snug as my wedding ring, but it looks like my hands are beginning to swell a little.    :|      Weird that the left would be more than the right, tho, huh? I'd figure since my right is the dominate and does more it would get the worse of the bargain.
