2nd or 3rd babies - gender preference?

I know it's early to ask this but I saw a lot of girls having 3rd babies who already have two sons. Wondering if any ladies have strong preferences or tried hard to conceive a specific gender? I have two sons and I'm not sure if I feel strongly about #3. I really wanted a girl last time around but my sons are amazing and at this point, I have all the boy clothes, experience, etc so it seems like another boy would be most natural. This is a surprise pregnancy for us so obviously we didn't try to conceive one or the other - not that I'm sure those methods are really very effective anyway. It will be interesting to see once we get closer to those anatomy scans.

I would prefer a boy, it's what I know (I have 2 boys). A girl would be great too, and ultimately a healthy baby is key but I'd much prefer a boy.

  • I'm still 50/50, I think. I have a girl and I think it would be easier with two girls especially this close in age (lo is 5 months now). Kinda want a boy, because one boy one girl idea. Not sure what I'd do if I had girly girls or a super boy. Both hubby or I are very gender neutral (for lack of a better term). I dress my lo in pink occasionally, but I tried to minimize her whole world being pink especially if I had a boy later and wanted to reuse items. My sis ended up with a boy surrounded in 4 yrs worth of pink items. (Has a 1 year old and 4 year old).

Reusing clothes is no small thing. Save a lot of $$!! And of course a healthy baby is all that matters. Does anyone have a feeling of what they might be having? My instincts are horrible when it comes to that so I've learned to ignore them. I was sure DS1 was a girl.
  • We have a boy already and I loveeeee boys. Girls scare me. So hoping for a boy over here. Although we have agreed on a girls name but not so much a boys. And I didn't have three best relationship with my mom so I think that's the other part of having a girl that scares me.
  • We have 2 girls and we're really hoping for a boy. We lost a boy in between our 2 girls and I think that's a huge factor in it. Growing up I always wanted 3 boys so the irony if I had 3 girls would be humorous. We have a boy name but girl names are rough on us. We have always bought gender neutral gear so it can be used for either thankfully.

  • I tend to block off any feelings, because I don't want to be so sure and then be wrong. It's super dumb I know. I would be so thankful to save on clothes that I have saved, and toys that I haven't give away just yet.

But If I had to guess I'd say girl.
  • I have a 10 month old daughter and I think it would be amazing to have another girl! They'd be best friends (I'd make them be best friends anyways lol).
A little boy would be wonderful too. Either way I'm happy.

  • We have a daughter and I wouldn't mind #2 being a boy or a girl. I think my husband hoeps for a boy, but I know he would be happy with 2 daughters as well.
  • I'm hoping for a girl. But then a boy would be nice too so my son could have a brother. Plus, I've got so many cute boy clothes already. If we have another boy we will most likely try one more time for a girl. If we have a girl this time, we will most likely leave a third child up to chance.

  • I have a weird feeling it's a boy :) I'm 5 weeks today. I have a 7 year old little girl and would love another girl but would be happy with either.
  • We have 2 boys. Technically we "tried" for a girl... BD at O-4.... but would be thrilled with a boy too. I have a feeling if we have a girl, I would want to give her a sister, and that scares me. :)

  • I have a son would be nice to experience raising a lil girl.
  • Hoping for a girl!!
  • We've got 3 girls and I know the second I announce people are going to say, something along the lines of "Trying for that boy, hey?"
Frustrating to say the least, because no we aren't. My hubby and I both are more comfortable with the idea of having all girls. We are scared a boy will throw us for a loop! Either way we will be happy and feel blessed! Healthy is all that matters.

  • We have one boy and I'd love another. I actually can't even imagine having a girl, I'm so ensconced in boy world. Plus I have all the clothes :) But honestly I don't really have a preference. Just want a healthy baby.
  • We have two girls already and my hubby would love a boy. I don't really care, just want a happy healthy baby!
  • I have one girl, and my husband wants a son. I'd be happy either way, of course, but I've always seen myself raising a gaggle of girls. :)

I would love a girl! My husb doesn't have a preference. I kept my socks on and we sexed it up before ovulation...both supposed old wives tales to conceive a girl according to my mom. Hehe

  • We swayed for a girl because we both definitely want at least one of each. We agreed we will try for a girl at least 3 times before giving up (I don't think I could handle 5 boys!)
