Trying to Get Pregnant

Cryosurgery of Cervix

Has anyone had this done? I had it done over 10 years ago. I have read online that some women have successfully gotten pregnant and had the baby after having this procedure and then some have not. I am not worrying about it yet (affecting ttc) since we haven't hit the year mark...but of course it makes me wonder:(

Re: Cryosurgery of Cervix

  • I think there's a chance of scar tissue or something like that...but, I had a LEEP done on my cervix and my SIL had a LEEP/Cone biopsy done on hers and both of us have gotten pg after (both ending in m/c).  Don't freak out, it supposedly didn't contribute to the m/c.  My point is it isn't likely to hinder conception.  Rest assured and GL!

  • i had it done 2 years ago.  I was told that it would not hinder chances of conception, but if its on a big area that it could compromise your cervix.  At that point they would have to put a stich in your cervix to kind of "hold" it shut.  I think that's rare though.

My SIL was told something similar because a cone biopsy can be extensive.  But, I think they try to wait and see how the cervix holds up!

    ?

So they can tell by looking at the cervix whether it has scarring...etc??
