Teething

Im getting desperate here. She's not sleeping and is so fussy the last three days. I'm doing Advil every 6 hours, but what else can I do? How would you get the gel onto a molar? Are the tabs safe? How do I get her to chew on frozent things? Help!

Re: Teething

  • Teething is the worst!! You could try using a different kind of pain meds. Maybe the advil isn't doing the trick. I usually offer my lo some cold water to drink if his teeth are bothering him or you could see if she would like to suck on a sugar free popsicle? I don't use the teething gel..I heard somewhere that it can numb their throats if swallowed.

  • We have just recently started using hyland's teething tablets. They seem to work really well! Give it a shot. It's pretty easy to get it under their tongue or on the gums. They dissolve really fast.
  • I second the teething tablets! I do a shot of Tylenol and after a few hours I give her 2 teething tablets to supplement. I have checked with the pediatrician and she said that Tylenol and teething tablets are fine to take together.

  • We use the teething tablets too. DS also likes almost frozen washcloths dipped in chamomile tea.
  • DD is a late teether. She just cut her first two teeth in the past couple weeks. She really like chewing a cold washcloth. I have also been giving her a bit of Motrin...more so because she has been sick but I'm sure it has helped.
