With my first, it broke at home, which is not dramatic, but the amount was crazy! I ran down the hall trying to make it to the tiled bathroom, but I instantly soaked my pants and left a trail behind me.
Last time Mine also broke over the toilet- not so crazy! I'm having nightmares of my water breaking infront of my class of 3-year-olds!!! I can just imagine them running home to their mothers saying "morah gabby had an accident!"
First time Mine broke walking put of Shoneys which is directly facing my hospital! This time it broke at home in bed, but I had eaten at Shoneys the night before!
I really like my water breaking because there is no doubt that it is time.

So, I'm really worried that my water is going to break in bed and I'll ruin the mattress! Did you have something under you?
I think ours is from Ikea (our mattress and sheets are from there). I'll have to check when hubby wakes up. It's not plastic-y at all, has a soft surface. I wish I had it earlier, I didn't get it until my son was several months old and had already spit up on the bed several times, plus my boobs leaked through thick towels, and there was just always a fluid someplace...
I was at DD1's 2yr check up and I stood up to leave the pediatrician's office and my water broke. All of the nurses and people in the waiting room were excited so it was kind of funny :-)
@Amy and Jay I swear I thought that was going to be me last week! But I made it through the entire 1 1/2 hour dr visit with no labor signs. It would have been a fun story for everyone.
With my first, my water broke in walmart. Just as i was walking in.i bet the clean up people had fun cleaning up that mess..lol .was induced with the other too so my dr broke.my water at the hospital..im kind of scared to see when mine breaks this time!!!
Enough did not come out at first to get to the mattress. I already had a waterprrof cover on though because of my two year old.
I would suggest to everyone to go ahead and get a cover because of all of the messes (water breaking, leaky bottles, throw-up, potty training, the list goes on and on)
My water broke at the hospital right before pushing him out after 17 hours in labor. I think it's fascinating that it happens so differently for everyone.
Doctor broke my water during labor to help speed it up. So I'm glad I don't have any awkward water breaking stories! My morher's broke with me when she was standing in line at a bank.
Mine broke when I was sleeping. Wasn't too messy. Luckily I was sleeping with my own blanket and the mattress had a protector on it. We just quickly stripped the sheets and threw them in the washer when we were leaving for the hospital.
