Baby Umbilical cord

hi everyone, my daughters umbilical cord is hanging by a thread I hear not to touch it but what do I do when it falls off .. Clean around it ??? Thanks

Our ped told us that if it's still kinda oozy that you should clean it with alcohol until it dries up. Hers bled for about 3 days after it fell off but the alcohol dried it all up.

My last daughter's uc fell off after one week. I think bc the hospital forgot to take off the clamp. My Ped had to do it. So I think that it weighed it down. But it oozed a couple days very lightly. After it dried up we were able to start baths.

I was told even after it falls off to wait until the area has dried before cleaning/washing.
