Trouble TTC a Sibling

New

I just found this message board today. My daughter will be 4 in July. I have been trying since my daughter turned 2. We waited to start trying because I didn't want siblings to close together plus I run an in home daycare and already had 3 babies that were all the same age so I wasn't ready to add another in the mix plus when I was pregnant with my daughter I was sick for 5 months and then had swollen feet the rest of the pregnancy. The last 6 months I have being using the OPK but still no luck. Not sure what else to do. Besides have more sex. LOL I didn't use OPK with my daughter but it did take a 1 1/2 of trying to get pregnant.

Any advice or tips? Or just someone else in the same boat it would be great to chat with.

Hi! DH and I have been trying to concieve for over 3 years. We've been using OPK too. But I would recommend seeing a RE. I feel like we waited to long to finally see one. When we did go we figured out what was preventing us from TTC.

  • Welcome. Have you gone to see your OBGYN or anything so that they can check to make sure there aren't any issues making conceiving difficult? You can either start there or you can go straight to an RE. I ended up going to straight to an RE after we'd been TTC for a year because we had some known fertility issues with DH and figured an RE would be where would end up anyway.

    Good luck!

  • Silly question what is an RE?

I have gone to the OBGYN - she said on my end things look great and to keep trying.
  • An RE is a reproductive endocrinilogist. Doctors who use IVF and other infertility treatments.

  • Did they do any testing for your significant other? My RE said something like 40% of infertility issues can be due to issues related to the male.
