Can Maternit21 test be wrong?.

SO After my first daughter was born with trisomy 13 I decided to take the maternit21 genetic testing. I was absolutely thrilled to find out I was having a healthy baby. free of trisomies. But just curious on gender I got this test done at 12 weeks 3 days. So deff enough fetal DNA the doctor said. How accurate can it be on gender?. It doesn't matter to me boy or girl. I just want a healthy baby after the loss of my daughter I thought it may never happen for me. Anyone know of getting told boy or girl and the gender is different?.

I had the test done and it was accurate. According to everyone I've asked, the results are nearly 100% accurate.

Congrats on your healthy little guy! They are pulling out the chromosomes in order to test so they would definitely be able to tell you if it's XX or XY chromosomes...IE great accuracy on providing you with the gender!

It is 99+ so not 100% my hospotal informed me they have seen wrong results. It is rare but it can happen. For us and people I know personaly everything was 100%

Thanks today I had my 20 week scan and it confirmed girl. & everything looks great

Congratulations! My second child had trisomy 13 and my pregnancies afterwards have been stressful, but after good blood tests and anatomy scans there is a weight that lifts off of my shoulders. So happy for you!
