Multiple LH Surges (LO mentioned)

This cycle I've apparently had 2 LH surges.

Before anyone tells me, I know temping is going to be the first thing people say to check.  I have temped this cycle & my temps have been all over the place; mostly because I have an almost 3 year old who isn't a great sleeper & so I'm up & down in the early morning.

I use the advanced clearblue digital opk's.....i got a peak result on CD 12 then another day positive, then two days negative, one day high, & then today on CD 17, it was peak again!  I'm just asking, I can assume that I did NOT ovulate with the first peak reading, correct?  A second LH surge wouldn't be necessary unless the first LH surge had not caused ovulation, right?  I know the only way I could know for sure whether or not I ovulated would be my temps but unfortunately they are not really of any help to me.  So I'm just asking if a second LH surge rules out ovulation from the first LH surge.

Hi, most people on this board aren't temping anymore because RE's have taken our cycles over, so you might find more answers on Trying to Get Pregnant.   But a second LH surge usually means that the first surge did not release a follie.   It can also hint at other things if it happens a lot (PCOS, etc).

I agree - when I first started seeing my RE, I used OPKs. i didn't have much luck using them and most of us on this board have moved on. I wouldn't worry about 1 cycle, but if this keeps happening, it's a sign that there's something else going on.

Thanks ladies!!  I start fertility testing with a possible referral to an RE next cycle.
