I'm going to say it's possible but not likely. My aunt, a very experienced ad skilled ultrasound technician, did sonograms on herself every week during her pregnancy. By week 12 she was absolutely certain she was having a boy. Then when week 16 came around she discovered she was wrong; it was a girl. If you're wanting a more accurate answer whether you're having a boy or girl, I would wait a few more weeks.
Or do the harmony test, it's a blood test that shows chromosomal abnormalities. With that they can also tell the gender. I knew at 12 wks the gender. And it's a blood sample taken from YOUR arm.
With my last pregnancy I was told at 13 weeks 4 days that I was having a boy!! She was 99% sure, and at my next appt they confirmed it was a boy. It's possible but I've also known people you get told the wrong sex.
I got my ultrasound at 14 weeks and they said that it was a girl. Went back today and it was confirmed that I was having a girl. I do know someone who the gender of her baby was born completely opposite of what they told her
I had an ultrasound at 14 weeks, the first 5 min she said girl at then end boy then text me the next day saying she wants to follow up at 17weeks because gender was still in question. We did it at an elective 3D place so who knows!
I had mine today at 14.5 weeks gestation and it's another boy. She just touched my abdomen in the perfect spot just between the legs, she had not even looked at the screen yet and I said immediately it's another boy. 5 boy's and 3 girls. Tried to level the playing field out, but I'm a boy carrying machine. My last boy was accurate at 14.2 days.
The technician told us she would be able to tell at 14 weeks, but we made our appointment for 15 weeks just to play it safe. Maybe things will be a little more developed by then? Hoping to get an accurate result on Saturday!!
It's been accurate for everyone I know who has had a scan at 14weeks. It was accurate for our son, and again this time for our daughter. After seeing both boy and girl parts in the scans at 14 weeks they are pretty different by that point and obvious to an experienced tech.
I've done it at 14 weeks both pregnancies and each time it was obvious even to me what I was having. I actually sent the pic to my friend who's a certified ultrasound tech and she confirmed each time. My friends all went around the same time and we're all correct.
Im 17 wks and I found out I'm having a another boy and wondered how accurate the technician was she did a close up between his legs & the genitals seem very visible. So I'm a boy maker.
I went to a 3d ultrasound private office and paid out of pocket to know( a lot cheaper then I would have thought).. Found out right away BOY and it was very obvious... We had thought boy because at 12 week ultrasound OB said she was 75% sure it was a boy and sure enough it was. I think it might be more obvious if it's a boy tho..

This test should only be used for high-risk pregnancies and mothers over the age of 35.
At 13-14 weeks the genitals still look very similar i'm afraid. Take a look here : https://baby2see.com/gender/external_genitals.html I was for an ultrasound now at 13+2 and my gyno said it was most likely a boy :x But i am waiting with the blue clothing until my week 19 checkup ;-)
My appoitments landed just right so that my mid ultrasound is at exactly 20 weeks. I was a little bit sad at first, because now I am getting impatient and want to know! But 2 of my friends said I am better off waiting because they both had been told they were having boys at 14 weeks and the other at 16 weeks, and they both wound up being girls boy-girl. dont care, just want a healthy baby. either way I can't wait to find out!! here is my sonogram from 13 weeks.
A doctor knows exactly what to look for, and if they use 3D/4D, the can correctly tell you. Of course there is always a chance that anyone could be wrong, but the chances are a lot lower if you go to someone knowledgable and has access to 3D/4D!
"There is no friendship, no love, like that of a mother for her child"
I found out at 16 & 15 weeks with my boys, and went earlier this time (13 weeks) but went to a doctor that used 3D/4D and she was very confident that it was a girl. I have another ultrasound on Monday and will find out if she was correct (I had surgery last week and this ultrasound is to check the baby again)

I went at 14 weeks and it was definitely a girl. Even I could tell it looked very different from my sons ultrasound pics around the same time. Just confirmed at my anatomy scan!
